I've no idea where to start and it needs to be online shopping because I can't get out to have a browse through the shops.

I need a couple of barganious presents along the lines of monte blanc pen, Armani boxers or socks, posh socks, silk tie, gant tops and any thing else I haven't thought of like aftershave.

Any help appreciated - I'm losing the will of Christmas cheer over here!

The only way to buy high quality presents on a small budget is to give books.

We've had excellent artisanal cheese boards (by post!) from Pong! A bit random but good.

What about a nice Moleskin notebook? Handkerchiefs/pocket square from TM Lewis or similar?

MrsNuckyThompson · 05/12/2016 20:07

You don't say what your budget is but you could get a really special bottle of red wine for £20-30?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 05/12/2016 20:07

A kilo of Parmesan would be comparatively affordable, spoiling and fab for a keen cook foodie

plimsolls · 05/12/2016 20:07

Does he shave? How about a luxurious shaving brush and shaving soap set?

As a concept, an expensive/luxury version of things he uses everyday is a good way to give gifts to people who have lots of money/expensive tastes.

So: really gourmet coffee, maybe with some of those rock sugar crystals.
Cashmere socks
Expensive shower gel
Shaving brush stuff mentioned above
Home fragrance stuff
Crystal glasses (whisky if he drinks whisky, wine if a wine lover, cocktail for cocktail etc etc)
Expensive deli type food (gourmet cheese etc)

I'm assuming it's for a "he" because you mentioned boxers but same concept applies for women.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 05/12/2016 20:08

Cheese by post Shock that is perfect for one of them, thank you!

Will also look at TM Lewis.

No f them are big readers so no books or magazine subscription etc

How much and what does he like? Tie, pen, wine, whisky, good stuff, kitchen gadgets (nice knife or fancy corkscrew), coffee table book, print...?

Rumtopf · 05/12/2016 20:14

Can you get out to TKMaxx? They have pretty much everything you first mentioned for bargainous prices.

belleandsnowwhite · 05/12/2016 20:16

I was going to suggest tkmaxx too. They had some great bargains in the one I went in today.

bigredfireengine · 05/12/2016 20:18

Where does he buy his clothes from?

What is your budget?

Does he drink?

IJustWantABrew · 05/12/2016 20:18

Have a look on Groupon they are always doing designer boxers etc on the cheap. Also wowcher is good and you don't need to leave the house Xmas GrinXmas EnvyBrew

Patriciathestripper1 · 05/12/2016 20:20

Does he have any hobbies?

Leatherboundanddown · 05/12/2016 20:21

Tk maxx and you can order online too. Can I also recommend the site brandalley? You have to sign up but in the outlet section they have some really good stuff. Have a look at the men's Jaeger things.

Achica is also another good site.

What is your actual budget?

SarfEast1cated · 05/12/2016 20:21

smedley outlet website is pretty good - www.johnsmedleyoutlet.com/

Leatherboundanddown · 05/12/2016 20:21

The site johnandginger or allbeauty have some elemis and dermalogica skincare sets for very good reductions

bigredfireengine · 05/12/2016 20:22

Tie from Drakes www.drakes.com/ties not bargainous but tasteful and expensive.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 05/12/2016 20:23

No hobbies workaholic likes red wine.

Is very into Christmas and Christmas ornaments.

I can possibly get to a TK max, hadn't thought of that.

Thank you for all the ideas.

Cufflinks tray/box? I want one for myself for my studs. Mini/pocket leatherman, electric hot water bottle-I love them, they're this years obsession! A funny or lovely teatowel. Hotel chocolat, bottle of single malt-can get a decent one for £25. Or wine. Or tickets to something

Chutneys & jams.mdo they like sports? Cooking?

I'm in the same boat with dh & his family. It's hard to

bigredfireengine · 05/12/2016 20:28

How much does he spend on a pair of shoes and where are they from?

(just trying to get the right level of pitch for any gift suggestions)

Oogle · 05/12/2016 20:32

Without knowing your budget it's hard to give ideas.

Bottle of red wine from a special year?

Good quality tea/coffee with mug and "artisan" biscuits?

Port with port glasses if budget will stretch

Simple leather bracelet

Oogle · 05/12/2016 20:32

Wedgwood do lovely Christmas ornaments.

HeddaGabbler · 05/12/2016 20:33

Red wine; what about a bottle of Barolo? You can pick a good one up for about £30.

originalmavis · 05/12/2016 20:40

I'd be happy with a fancy bottle of port and a pot of stilton.

bigredfireengine · 05/12/2016 20:47

We need to know how expensive his tastes are and your budget?
