How do I be a good Christmas guest?

I'm no contact with family, and have done a few Christmases with friends and their families, and a few alone.

This year I'm doing Christmas Eve night with one group of friends and Christmas Day with another. We all work together, and they invited me. The Christmas Eve ones also have another single/stately home type there as well.

I'm just wondering how to be a good guest! I'll take food to both days, and I have presents for them, I'll help tidy up etc but wondered if there was anything else? For all of us it's also a work day on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Sounds very good to me! i always take gift and offer to help. Leave your room in a decent state make or strip the bed. Put rubbish in bin, take cups to kitchen etc.
You sound lovely so I'm sure we don't have to say make insulting comments about tgeirvlevels of tidyness, deco or other habits!

Thanks Smile
I'm sleeping in the lounge, with the other girl I think too, and on Christmas Day will probably drive home as it'll feel easier I think.

I guess I'm aware it's a bit different to staying at a friends because you're visiting or something. I don't want to ruin their Christmas!

Try to find out their expectations regarding timings. What time do they expect to get up, eat, go to bed etc?

Nothing worse than a guest that's still asleep at 10am when everyone is waiting to be able to start breakfast. Smile

Good point - I've woken up hours before the people I'm staying with before, and not known if it's okay to make tea whilst they still sleep!
