I am looking for some inspiration this year. We have one dd who is 11 and we have a very tiny family so it's mainly 'santa' presents that dd gets at christmas.

This year she has asked for only a couple of things: a minecraft gast drone; some kaiwi plushies and new jumpers for our very elderly dogs.

We have bought all that, along with some other japanese bits and bobs (she is MAD about this stuff) but it is all very tiny looking iykwim?

We will get books and a family board game but I am looking for some ideas of bulky WOW sort of things that she will not be expecting.

Please tell me what your 11 yr old girls are getting.

She is not into hair / beauty / fashion yet

Do you go to the beach in summer? New body board?

Fleecy blanket in favourite colour?

Big set of Sharpies?

Cupcake kit with a cake stand?

There are these ball shaped animals on amazon that are actually a handwarmer...

MrsJayy · 30/11/2016 16:52

What about a canvas picture for her room you can get them cheaply but are big if she is into Japanese stuff you could get an aneme try geekabo or forbiden planet

Cagliostro · 30/11/2016 16:53

It's not big size wise but have you seen Letraset promarkers, they're really nice pens for colouring manga stuff.

Ramp for outside to use with bike/scooter etc?

WritingHome · 30/11/2016 16:53

Thaks sister some good ideas there.
I have been reading some other threads after i wrote this one and someone mentioned a candy floss maker and I reckon she might love that!

My 11yr old is getting an instax instant camera. ( on offer £54.99 in Argos and Amazon atm) I've also order loads of extra films ( bloody expensive!) and a big accessory kit ( from Amazon) to go with it. Loads of stickers for the prints, all quite Japanese-y in style. DD has for the baby blue one Smile
I've also got her lots of klutz crafty bits, again from Amazon. She would like a flicker scooter.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 30/11/2016 16:59

Sorry sorry, neither of these are big in size! My fault, I skim read. Last year she got a pogo stick which is used daily, was fairly cheap and came in a huge box! -and is currently resting on my fridge freezer for the tenth week running..

monkeyfacegrace · 30/11/2016 17:00

I have bought dd in the past:

Mega bean bag that can also be used outside. £20 ebay.
Candy floss maker + popcorn maker + popcorn tub things. £50 total.
Scooter plus ramp, scooter was £70 from amazon and ramp was £20 from toysrus.
Photo cushion, maybe put a pic of the dogs on? £15 online.
What about a hamster? £40 for a large cage plus £10 for the animal. Easy to care for, only live 3 years, she sounds like an animal lover?

WritingHome · 30/11/2016 17:02

monkeyface she is a huge animal lover but we have 2 dogs and a cat so I am not sure I can cope with any more pets....she on the other hand would adore it. I would worry with the cat tbh.

Was the candy floss maker rubbish?

No idea, it's currently wrapped ready for this year 😁 We bought one from Claus Olsen? I think that's the website anyway.

A cat won't get the hamster as long as the cage is closed. Most cats I've ever known just sit and watch the cage with intent Grin

Yamadori · 30/11/2016 17:15

Giant Christmas cushion? There are some lovely ones about at the moment, and it can come out again every year.

Lancelottie · 30/11/2016 17:19

Hamsters are notoriously good at getting out of cages, though - if they don't squeeze through improbably small gaps in the bars, they chew surreptitiously through the back corner.

New dressing gown?
Unicycle?
Or one year we had a big hit with an office chair (twirly sort with castors), but possibly I have very odd children.

leccybill · 30/11/2016 17:21

Mermaid tail blanket?

TheTartOfAsgard · 30/11/2016 17:22

Sewing machine, easel, beanbag

slalomsuki · 30/11/2016 17:23

Asda have some lovely big fluffy dressing gowns in stock which I have just bought one for DD aged 11. She has asked for a Crystal growing kit which is quite large too

WritingHome · 30/11/2016 17:24

Thank you all. Some great ideas here!

wobblywonderwoman · 30/11/2016 17:25

I was going to suggest a desk and chair (IKEA)

Large multi photoframe for her room abd vouchers for printing

Rug

wobblywonderwoman · 30/11/2016 17:26

Pretty weekebd bag

DustingOffTheDynastySuit · 30/11/2016 17:26

No suggestions, but love the fact she has asked for jumpers for the dogs!

OohhThatsMe · 30/11/2016 17:27

I love the jumpers for the dogs, too!

What about a chocolate fountain?

MrsJayy · 30/11/2016 17:30

Chocolate fountain is a bloody faff to clean ours is in the back of a cupboard

notthe1Parrot · 30/11/2016 17:30

What about one of those large (often red) plastic sledges? They sell in our local garden centre (not a chain garden centre) for about £20. They can be a bit of a WOW gift!

WritingHome · 30/11/2016 17:32

Thank you all. She is very kind to all our animals, especially now that our dogs are 13. They are small terriers and feel the cold these past couple of winters.

That was actually the very first thing she asked for, long before the asked for anything for herself. I got them two very cute ones on accessorize. And two doggy christmas bandanas! Now I have to find something for the cat...
