What do I need to know about buying a laptop on Black Friday?

We have decided to get DD a laptop for Christmas. It's way over our normal gift budget, but will be worth it for the reduction in arguments over whose turn it is on the family PC.

I'm guessing that this means I really should pay attention to all the Black Friday deals this year. But having scorned Black Friday for the last couple of years I don't know where I should be looking! Anyone willing to help a novice get the best deal??

If I were you I would check the John Lewis website on Black Friday as they often do price matches. I like to buy electronic stuff from there as they have a two-year guarantee and are good about customer service.

Place marking, because I've actually just bought DD a new laptop but I want to get a new one for me on Black Friday. My research says the same as everyone else - min 8gb RAM, 1Tb hard drive, i3 for a starter laptop for a child, i5 for something a bit more chunky.

I've stayed up to try and buy dell laptop for £199 instead of £379 but when I click add to basket it shows me an options page which doesn't seem to give me option to go on. Any one able to help?

No luck just keeps saying service unavailable now. Shame

I would recomend John Lewis too, they do a two year warranty rather than the standard one year on technology. :)
