For green dungarees it might be worth looking for a Luigi fancy dress outfit

neddle · 17/11/2016 22:19

The [http://amzn.to/2f5lcjK [fire hd tablet]] is reduced from £100 to £60 at the moment if anyone's looking for one.

Scruffybear · 17/11/2016 22:43

she's a star you are a better Santa than I. My 5 yr old dd claimed to want one, I was inwardly horrified but said 'ooh, show me what they are let's find them on you tube'. By the time she'd heard the real sound they make even she didn't want one anymore so it didn't make Her list, (thank God!)

Leaves the sainsburys stop motion kits were a fiver.

They seem really nice for the price, especially considering that that includes a £2 charity donation.

The box is a bit bigger than a big hardback book and what I'd call a keepsake box - rigid, nicedly finished, designed to be opened and reused. Definitely something you could give as a present, it's not in a regular box.

Having said that - I haven't looked inside it yet - it's going to be a present so I don't know what the contents are like. There was a link on the stand for the iphone app so that you can make your own christmas movie so I thought I'd check that out in advance...

will have a look tomorrow when the dc aren't around and see if I can see any more of use!

Not sure if already been mentioned but Aldi have some great "Special Buys" coming up. Just pre-ordered a portable record player for DH. It was £29.99 delivered and has a 3 year warrantee. Really pleased as thought they were a nice idea but didn't want to pay much in case he doesn't.

TodayCrosbyToday · 17/11/2016 23:30

Reastie You can re-record the message on the biscuit tins by pressing and holding the black button until it beeps again.

To play the message you just press the black button once each time- it also says the message will play every time the tin is opened. Can't verify this as haven't opened the tins as they are gifts! Definitely plays back via the button though.

Also, because both DDs are young I didn't hold out much hope of getting the message recorded easily so I recorded a video of them saying the message on my mobile and then played it back and recorded it on the tin! Not sure if sound quality is better or worse but it was certainly easier! Grin

Why didn't I think of party food boxes. Perfect confuugled. Thank you. And also to the other poster with the egg box suggestion. You legends!

ThornyBird · 18/11/2016 00:06

So my bloody older 2 DC have turned round tonight and requested a Smiggle advent calendar and a Lego advent calendar. They are 15 and 13 so I assumed we'd moved beyond such nonsense.

I bagged Lego calendars for my little 2 months ago when the price dropped on Amazon, any liklihood of them dropping again do you think?

Onelittlepiglet · 18/11/2016 00:14

I have just bought Xbox one 500gb with kinect for £179 (goes up to 184 at checkout) on Amazon. It comes with no game but at that price I got nearly two games for the normal priced xboxes. This isn't the 's' model and exclusive to prime customers (30 day free trial thank you very much). Thrilled!

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 18/11/2016 06:15

Thank you so much StarFlowers

Perhaps not the deal of the century but Seasalt has Poldark-themed jute bags 2 for £8 www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/all-accessories/womens-accessories/jute-bags/charity-jute-shopping-bag_eleanor_tomlinson.htm
They have a variety of jute bags, including lots of Christmassy ones, also 2 for £8 or 2 for £7 depending on the size + postage. They are good quality, I got two and love them, especially the Poldark one. Apologies if it has been already mentioned, I don't remember seeing this offer here
