Does anyone have an Aldi 5 bird roast in their freezer?

Hoping someone can help! We normally have a 5 bird roast from Aldi at Christmas but I'm not sure if I can have it this year as I've recently become lactose intolerant (thanks to pregnancy!). Does anyone have one in their freezer that they could please check the ingredients for me to see if it contains milk? There's no ingredient list on their website! I'd go to Aldi to have a look but I'm struggling with my hormones st the moment and think I'll have a full blown meltdown in the shop if I find out I can't have it HmmBlush

Would this sort of thing normally contain milk? I can't imagine how it would.

Birdlet · 14/11/2016 14:14

Ohh it's the stuffing that might contain milk or butter. I'd have through the same but after being made ill by a bag of crisps the other day I've become extra cautious!!

I have 2 will check and get back to you

flapjackfairy · 14/11/2016 19:40

There is a worryingly long list of additives! mentions gluten but nothing about not suitable for lactose intolerance. And nothing obvious on ingredients list

flapjackfairy · 14/11/2016 19:42

P.s. i have cranberry stuffing one

peppatax · 14/11/2016 19:44

5 birds?! Hmm

I'm thinking chicken, duck, turkey and goose but can't fathom the 5th bird of Christmas

Partridge?

GloriousSlug · 14/11/2016 19:47

The fifth bird is pheasant according my my Aldi Christmas booklet.

I'm tempted to buy one this year but I'm torn between feeling intrigued and slightly nauseous at the thought of so many meats on one plate!

peppatax · 14/11/2016 19:48

That seems like indigestion waiting to happen but I really want to give it a go!

GladysOli · 14/11/2016 20:26

We tried the cranberry one and it was lovely! My mum has one in the freezer waiting for Christmas!

flapjackfairy · 14/11/2016 20:57

Glad to help!

Are you aware you can buy lactase tablets? I'm lactose intolerant but can eat dominoes and all sorts if I've had a couple tablets first.

Birdlet · 15/11/2016 14:09

Orcinus I've not heard of them, no! Where would I go to buy such a thing? Very new to the whole lactose intolerance thing - it suddenly reared its ugly head about a month ago. Hoping it's just a pregnancy thing and that it'll disappear once baby's arrived..!
