The gifts you're most excited to give this year

I love the feeling you get when you find a perfect gift. This year I'm really excited about a few
For DS I've got him a photo blanket with a picture of him and Daddy next to a tractor and a duvet set with photos of tractors and combines. Also his own strimmer, chainsaw and wheelbarrow (we live on a farm)
For DH I've got him a new aero hat he mentioned months ago but would never ask for because he has a perfectly good one. He will be so surprised. Am also going to get pictures of him doing triathlons to decorate his bike room.
For our groom I've got a big canvas from a dog trial she did and a photo mug of her 3 dogs with coffee and coffee syrup. She cries every year so I always get excited about hers Grin

On the other hand DM has always wanted a pizza oven so I've bought one from NOTHS and I think it's probably going to be one of those never used kitchen items. I'm worried because it's not a built in one she won't like it. Got her a links of London bracelet from the bargain thread which I lived so much I bought myself one but now they're here I'm really not sure so think I've probably got 2 misses Sad

Monster figures for my soon to be 9 year old.

Got him a Mummy, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula and Wolf Man.

Some aren't made anymore so had to wait for them to appear on eBay ( and for reasonable prices!) and I think he's going to LOVE them.

Have also bought the old black and white movie boxset to go with them. It's so his sort of thing.

is it strange that I saw a giant cuddly monkey in Costco and thought of you? You are my stuffed toy guru Grin Flowers

Some lovely thoughtful gifts. It makes me feel all christmassy. I'm desperately trying to come up with the elusive perfect gift for my showjumping trainer who has gone above and beyond for me this year. Can't think of anything at all which is so frustrating. I love the feeling of finding a great gift.

I can't wait for DD2 to see her bike - she does have a bike now but is desperate for one with gears, she will love it when she sees it actually has does and no more peddling like a mad thing to keep up with us!
DD1 has other bits as opposed to one big present and i hope she'll love the mermaid tail blanket for the sofa, she loves snuggling under my fleecy blanket so to have her own will be great!

I love this thread every year! Gives great ideas too!

I have a whole array of Star Wars bubble baths for DS who is 8. They effectively cost £3 each. He will be ecstatic.

He is getting other bigger presents as well, I should say.

DD 4 is getting a Lego Elsa castle and I think she will jump up and down with glee.

SymphonyofShadows · 03/11/2016 13:22

The R/C BB8 droid for DS2 that arrived today. I've been playing with it via the 'try me' button on top. He's going to love it

CentreYourCheese · 03/11/2016 13:33

The Tom Hardy cushion I got DSD. Just because it will make her laugh a lot Grin

lacklustremum · 03/11/2016 14:24

Not what the actual present is, but I can't wait to actually give my mum and dad their presents on Xmas day itself.
DH, me and DCs moved 400 mile away 11 years ago and have only managed one actual Xmas day together in that time.

Therefore I'm going all out this year with , food, drink & presents and can't wait!

Poppiesway · 03/11/2016 21:33

I've brought ds1 (who'll be 18 in three weeks) a storm trooper mask / voice changer from Disney store.. he'll love it 😁
Ds2 is 10 and not as remotely into starwars as his brother is!!

herecomesthsun · 04/11/2016 02:35

I wandered into Disney Store with DS 8 at half term and we wandered out wth him in a storm trooper outfit. it was reduced to £15, the sales person let him try it on, DS exploded with joy. He would wear it round the house if he could (he has tried).

He would like to wear it on Xmas day.

it's a big gift but DS's new desktop computer. HE's been managing all year with something unsuitable for his needs so this year we've gone all out and sorted a really good desktop one that fits all his criteria and needs and beyond. he will be absolutely thrilled. he knows he's not really getting much else bar maybe a couple of books and pjs but he knows it's because it's such a big expensive present when allt he bits he needs for it are added up and he's more than accepting of that.

dementedma · 04/11/2016 20:58

Mum is spending Christmas in London this year with sis so we have bought her tickets to see the Nutcracker while she is there. She will love it.

ITMama1 · 04/11/2016 21:07

I've bought my niece a unicorn money bank. She's obsessed with rainbows and unicorns and is away to get her bedroom decorated in the same theme so think she'll be ecstatic to open it.

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 06/11/2016 00:16

I managed to get second row tickets for Billy Connolly for my husband - really big fan and he's never seen him live
For my children there are six of them aged late teens down to 5 year old twins so really think we have every toy they could need so we are taking them to Disney land Paris in January for a week. I am so excited I could burst - the youngest 2 are Disney princess obsessed and have been asking to go to the castle for ages so I can't wait.

What a lovely thread Smile

Love the electronic bookmark, might try for one of the bilingual ones for ds.

I was really looking forward to giving ds 12 his own whittling knife, but dh has pointed out that MIL will likely get really upset if we give ds a knife in front of her so I will probably postpone that to his birthday Confused Incidentally he is the most cautious, responsible child who likes whittling, not a knife fanatic, but MIL is losing the ability to separate reality from Daily Mail headlines her anxieties.

throwingpebbles · 06/11/2016 09:55

Amazing francis that castle is awesome!! And what a lovely way to recognise a very difficult year Flowers

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 06/11/2016 09:56

I'm really excited to give my DD fairy lights that spell out her unusual name. She will be thrilled.

throwingpebbles · 06/11/2016 09:58

For my boy (6) - he only ever asks Santa for one thing and this year it is a particular box of Lego. He has been worrying whether Santa will manage it and i can't wait to see his face when he does

For my daughter (3) every time we go to the supermarket she spends ages by the toy guitars, making them play then dancing. It didn't occur to her to ask for one for Christmas, but I know she is going to love it!

Still need to find the right thing for DP

memyselfandaye · 06/11/2016 10:09

My 5yr old loves the crystal maze, it's being repeated again every night at 6pm, he's saving water bottle tops and pretending they're crystals.

I've found a place online that sells the real ones for a tenner, his little mind will be blown away.

I have got him an electric quad bike, which will be a huge suprise, but the crystal will be the number 1 best present ever! I just know it's the one thing he will be telling everyone about.

Oh I love this thread !

I'm mostly excited to do a stocking for my parents - they do one for me every year and this year I want to include them on it. (Slightly worried cos we have extended family coming and they'll be the only ones to receive stocking as the other children are children!)

TBH I'm excited to give every gift. I've taken one item from everyone's list and then bought an extra surprise item that I know they'll love but probably didn't think to put on the list. Sounds cheesy, but really do prefer giving gifts over receiving.
