Cheating a bit posting in Christmas
Thought I was 100% set on the ikea one but just before I go & buy it on Saturday - should I?
Have seen the kidkraft one at Costco & looks like asda have one now too.
Can't stretch to gltc prices & having had a super cheap plasticky one for DD1 (thanks mum!) I want something more solid.

Help me decide please

We have the Costco. Got it 3 yrs ago so different colour but same style. Its heavy and solid. far better than the IKEA IMO. Quite tall 8 yr old daughter still uses it comfortably and its pristine 😁

Shemozzle · 18/10/2016 21:25

Last year Aldi had nice wooden ones for £30 it was end of October last year... I'm hoping they do the same again, and I'm
Holding out for that before a long drive to IKEA instead.

Lisad1975 · 18/10/2016 21:27

Aldi have it instore next thursday !

Nanasueathome · 18/10/2016 21:29

My sister got one from Asda, think it was around £35 and she says it is more or less identical to the Ines in ELC which is £100
Think there is a window in the roof of the ELC one and not in the Asda one
She also said that the furniture was in a pack and was £15 from Asda

Nanasueathome · 18/10/2016 21:31

Sorry, did not read thread correctly
I was talking about a dolls house, not a kitchen
Sorry

attheendoftheday · 18/10/2016 21:43

We got the ikea one 3 years ago and it's still pristine. It has adjustable feet so can be raised to different heights. I would recommend it.

Shemozzle · 18/10/2016 21:50

lisad1965 how do you know? It was 26th last year so seems likely but I've googled and stalked their website and can't find a thing yet!

HarvestMoon9 · 18/10/2016 22:21

We're getting DD2 an Ikea toy kitchen this year - a friend of mine runs a toddler group that has one and it's been though hell and still in pristine condition...

Muddlingalongalone · 18/10/2016 22:26

Thanks - looks like a trip to Wembley is the order of the day on Saturday then.
Can't really risk aldi coz her birthday is Friday & I am shit at building things!
Costco 7-10 days delivery

Asda dolls house for £35 is excellent - DD1 had informed Christmas 2 years ago

Aldi have them weekend of 27th of oct

Racheyg · 18/10/2016 22:33

Ds1 has the Ikea kitchen, it's very easy to put together and him and ds2 love it.

ThornyBird · 18/10/2016 22:35

We've had the IKEA kitchen for 7+ years and it is still played with by the youngest 2 DC.

annatha · 19/10/2016 07:26

The ikea one is pretty damn awesome/ solid and the stainless steel cooking sets are great. Ours is 4 or 5 years old and if DD hadnt drawn on decorated it in felt tip it would look like new. The doors havent dropped, lights still work etc. It's one of my best ever toy purchases

Eminybob · 19/10/2016 07:32

I can recommend the Aldi one, got it for DS last Xmas.
It is quite small but ideal, he plays with it every day (and the sane decor as my actual kitchen so it blends in nicely Smile)

eckythumpenallthat · 19/10/2016 08:46

Dd who is 4 got the IKEA one 2 Christmas ago
Love it. It's so solid and when we moved it up to her room over the summer we put the extension things on the legs to make it taller. She got it with the metal pots and pans but for Xmas we are going to add to it with the ceramic (esq) plates and cups

IShallCallYouSquishy · 19/10/2016 10:58

annatha- being really cheeky, any chance you could put pic of the other toys in the magazine? I can't get to my Aldi for a couple days to get one and want to see what I need to budget for! Thank you Flowers

annatha · 19/10/2016 13:50

Course! These are all the wooden toys.

Thank you so much! I was desperate to get some particular ones last year and by the time I got there they'd sold out.

Shemozzle · 19/10/2016 15:18

annatha does it show Wow toys at all?

Gowgirl · 19/10/2016 15:23

Wanna pick me one up at Wembley, I bloody hate that drive Grin

Muddlingalongalone · 19/10/2016 18:05

You don't like the north circular???
Not even Hangar Lane??
I think you can order it online if you are willing to pay delivery. I quite like the wander around child free for a while!!

Gowgirl · 19/10/2016 18:07

I ALWAYS end up in the wrong lane! I'll make dh go and send the kids with him!

fraggle84 · 19/10/2016 19:14

If you have the space go for the Costco one, we looked at it in store last week and it's amazing!

We have ikea as don't have much space and it's also very good but out of the 2 I'd have chosen Costco

Look at toysrus for pots they do a set for £20 which are great
