Not that I follow trends y'know ...Xmas Grin

Last year, loads of people did their front doors (if they had a solid wood or solid white UPVC) with a ribbon hoizontal/vertical and a bow to look like a wrapped presnt.

One year was those amber warm golden tree lights

Before we had bright white (all white) lights

Icicle lights

Blue lights

Teal/Silver/Blue

Trees of colours other than green..black, red, silver, white

Candle arches

Nordic

Stags and Plaids (I'm having this year)

Last year, everything had pugs on it .

Soooooo, what's "In" ?

I thought it was all about the Christmas tree as a dress this year... if you google it there are dozens!

Our hallway tree is silver and copper mixed metallics with warm white lights.
Living room is more tartan /reds normally but rolling out the metallic look throughout downstairs this year. Daughters rooms are 80's grotto and DS is more 6O's! Our bedroom has yet to be decided!

Loathed themed Christmas trees and decorations, it's so contrived. Why would you want your home to look like a John Lewis shopfloor. I love decorations from that have meant something, old and new, shiny and a little battered.

For me the tree is all about a mismatch of children's decorations, knitted, glass, old, new, glitter and lights.

This year I'm getting new decs for the house, I'm going Nutcracker themed with pinks, silvers, white and irredecesant. I've bought a fab new wooden Nutcracker trio wind up ornament that plays Tchaikovsky.

The woodland theme seems to be at large, also seen lots of traditional tartan and stag designs. I'm a bit bored of the natural woodland thing, I want to go a bit magical!

Those dresses as trees are adorable...

I let the trends pass me by and stick to my red green gold 'theme'...though I dont mind the odd different colour. Its mostly stuff I have collected over 30 odd years and I really cant be arsed changing it every year to be in fashion. Plus some decorations I have were a tad on the expensive side (didnt seem like it at the time but would be pricey to replace)

I've got a lot of brass coloured metal decs.. sort of like fretwork that I love and always looking to add to my collection.DS has his own tree with oddments on...w had a weeping angle on our tree a few years ago

I was quite pleased when I saw a few gold table decorations...after years of silver.

I also have coloured lights outside and in, where all my neighbours have white...I will be joining them this year as I saw a house up the road with my coloured ones and the white dangling (icicle?) together and it looked fab. I also have a muticoulored disco light which erm...is bright..my neighbour said she nearly crashed the car Grin

Silver and blue for me this year...already have the tree decorated, but hidden under a bin bag...long story...

I need to find silver and blue chocolate for the tree...anyone know where I can find some?
