Just to top up on Layla's deal you can go through TopCashback and get 8% cashback

LavateLasManos · 15/10/2016 10:40

The Thorntons code is VCUK20

breakfastbap · 15/10/2016 10:51

To take advantage of the Thorntons 5 for £20 deal you have to enter a code - problem is once Ive done that the code box is gone so I cant enter the next code. Am I missing something?

LavateLasManos · 15/10/2016 11:00

Same happened to me breakfast

GerrardWinstanley · 15/10/2016 11:00

Oh chuffing nora! Now I need presents for twin 6yo boys, ideally under £15 for both. All I can think of are those 'see inside' lift-the-flap books from Usborne. Is that a pants idea? Help!!

LavateLasManos · 15/10/2016 11:06

I've just found a brilliant website that helps you find which stores have stock in. I've been looking for a Hatchimal and managed to bag one thanks to this site!
Stock Informer

LavateLasManos · 15/10/2016 11:08

REASTIE the website I posted might be a good thing to pop on The List for the next thread.

Badders123 · 15/10/2016 11:19

I think lift the flap might be a bit young for 6?

TomHaverford · 15/10/2016 11:23

I'm thinking of getting DH an Amazon Echo for christmas. Any idea if this will go into Black Friday sales?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 15/10/2016 11:25

Gerrard I would say lift the flap books are a bit young for 6 year olds. My dd's adore busy books (hardback story with playmat and 12 mini figures) normally around £5 in Tkmaxx or supermarkets. You can get various Disney ones, from films (ice age) or superheroes :)

Otherwise loads in 2 for £15 at argos. From my experience boys of that age like superheroes and anything toilet humor related :)

neddle · 15/10/2016 11:28

Gerrard how about something like a torch?
Star Wars ones for £6-49.

Teen Titans figures £7 each.

Papercraft robots if they like making things?

neddle · 15/10/2016 11:30

I disagree actually (As a former Usborne seller). The see inside books are very definitely aimed at 6yos and above. They're information books with lots of small flaps, not the sort you're thinking of for preschoolers etc.

There is a great variety of them and if the family appreciate books, then go for it.

Chrisinthemorning · 15/10/2016 11:33

I just got DS a Mickey Mouse clubhouse Oral B rechargeable toothbrush that plays a tune for £14.99 RRP £34.99 from Savers.
I know I post a lot of bargain toothbrushes but my excuse is I'm a dentist Smile

Chrisinthemorning · 15/10/2016 11:35

They had those Usbourne lift the flap books for £5 in the works today. They had a dinosaur one and a science one. I think they would be great for 6 year olds. We have the human body one and DS loves it at 4. We read it together.

CarrotVan · 15/10/2016 11:39

my 3.5 yo loves his Usborne The Body book...

For 6 yo how about haynes build your own

or

Haynes first tech

or there's loads of stuff in the B&M 2 for £20 sale such as science kits, remote control vehicles etc

or the Wilkos fake lego sets

weebarra · 15/10/2016 11:50

My six year old loves the usborne See Inside...books. Not too young for him - the see inside maths one is more my eight year old's level.

CarrotVan · 15/10/2016 12:08

I've signed up for weekend box club via Top Cash Back. It cost me £1 for their mega box (rrp £7.50) but £1.76 cash back. You can get the small box (rrp £4.95) for free with the cash back. Plus you can cancel really easily.

I'm assuming it's like the Mister Maker/ Toucan Box stuff so might be nice to have for stocking fillers or some activities over Christmas.

ChoccyJules · 15/10/2016 12:12

Boden have 20% off kids clothes plus free delivery/returns until end of tomorrow, Sunday, may be useful for sparkly tights etc?

FeelingSmurfy · 15/10/2016 12:13

Argh just wrote a message and lost it, here we go again

We have had the degustabox before and I wouldn't really think of hamper, it's just normal groceries. Not every box has something sweet or alcohol in, some boxes are more of a hit than others.

If you do go for it then cancel after the first box and you might get a code in future for a discounted box, I've just had one for £4.99 box with extra item in it, I've gone for it because that's about what it's worth for me. Anything we won't use I put in foodbank box (things like bbq sauce, none of us like it but it could be good to add flavour to bland meals or get a child to eat stuff they wouldn't normally)

lozster · 15/10/2016 12:31

Someone in an earlier thread was making personalised giant selection boxes. There were a couple of people requested ideas for big, shallow boxes. I picked up this one today in Iidl that is a good size and depth. It had mushroom boxes in it.

Mama1980 · 15/10/2016 12:32

My £2.97 bargain elf on the shelf arrived today from china, link is in a previous thread, he is amazing! Looks just like the proper Ones, very cute. I'm very pleased. He took six weeks to arrive.
Never heard of elf in the shelf before but my 8 year old wants to do it for my younger 2 this year.

ThornyBird · 15/10/2016 12:37

Hi, has anyone got a promo code for Hush Puppies please?

CarrotVan · 15/10/2016 12:51

gladisgood · 15/10/2016 12:54
