TheImprobableGirl · 26/08/2016 18:19

I wasn't eligible for the vacuum cleaner either :(

Also I'm not sure whether I want a window vacuum cleaner!

Organisednotobsessed · 26/08/2016 18:26

I wouldn't usually think to go on Peacocks website but was looking for some plain black and grey long sleeved tees boys tees to make my own slogan tops for DS. They have lots of character stuff eg Superman, Minecraft etc reduced and bankhol20 gives 20% off sale items. www.peacocks.co.uk/sale/boys.html

GerudoValley · 26/08/2016 19:39

I've not caught up with the end of thread 2 or the start of thread 3 Shock so don't know if this has been mentioned...

Went to the Disney store yesterday and they have some sale items and a special offer - spend £10 and get 50% off Finding Dory swimming talking figurines.

VinoTime · 26/08/2016 19:40

Just bought 9yo DD the Wonder Woman Shield on Amazon. It's down from 19.99 to £12.98 - the cheapest it is anywhere by the looks of it. She's just starting to get into superheroes so I think I'll grab her some WW graphic novels to go with it Smile

Between this and the Nerf bow, all I'm doing is arming her this Christmas

ladylambkin · 26/08/2016 19:40

I can also highly recommend the Dolltopia graphic novel for any older 'girly' girls as a gateway comic. DD absorbed it within hours and is chomping at the bit for more comics as a result. We went through the other sellers on Amazon and picked up a like new copy for peanuts.

needyounow · 26/08/2016 20:36

reastie These fairy doors are nice but don't open, an option if you can't find any that do open.
I have bought a few things from the website, all have been lovely and arrived quickly. There is often special offers on the Facebook page and products that are not on the website.

GinAndSonic · 26/08/2016 20:47

I assume dc superhero girls is a TV show? I looked at the figures but i dunno, they look a bit... Too girly? We watch a lot of dc animated universe and lego dc heroes and my DD sees wonder woman's as a badass, straight talking, no bullshit warrior. Not sure if dc superhero girls will change that?

RoastieToastieReastie · 26/08/2016 20:59

Thank you Needyounow but they really need to be able to open. I'm beginning to have crazy thoughts about the works and decorating it myself but my limitations will be pretty rubbish.

BicycleMadeForTwo · 26/08/2016 21:02

I have one of those The Works fairy doors that I'm gonna be decorating for my DD. I'll do one for you at the same time Reastie. Just PM me colours etc you would like and I'll send it onto you. I'll never even know if you bin it and buy another online 😀 My thank you for all these threads over the years

chubbytubbybyebye · 26/08/2016 21:08

Yay another thread.

Onelittlepiglet · 26/08/2016 21:11

Hi Reastie - I have been coveting these fairy doors from etsy which do open. They are not cheap though!

VinoTime · 26/08/2016 21:39

GinandSonic I know DD would love the DC dolls. She's very girly and has every type going (Barbies, Monster High, Ever After High, etc.) that she plays with daily. She's not showing any signs of growing out of them yet, but I think the DC range would actually be a nice change for her. I think, along with the graphic novels and the TV show, it would be a good way of introducing her to the whole superhero/comic book franchise a little more as it's still all very new to her. It's also age appropriate, which is the main thing for me.

cookiefiend · 26/08/2016 21:43

the jungle book 1 and 2 two disc set is £6.99 on Amazon dvd and £7.99 on bluray bluray

Both the best price even on Amazon according to ccc and cheaper than buying the jungle book by itself (I assume the second one is rubbish as they always are, but you never know). A new film has just come out so it may be a popular on this year.

wornoutboots · 26/08/2016 21:47

the amazon helicopters are reduced again www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BHXQ43Q/

QOD · 26/08/2016 21:54

Saw the charm bracelet up thread but it's a bit ., meh

snowgirl1 · 26/08/2016 21:55

Reastie Fairydoorz have fairy doors that open.

cookiefiend · 26/08/2016 22:01

Just a reminder too about Flubit. If you are buying on Amazon and something is never dropping price trying asking Flubit to beat the price. In my experience they often manage to, even if just by a small percentage- but these things all add up.

What you do is you set up an account the copy the URL into flubits home page and they will take a few hours (sometime up to a day) and come back with a price offer. You can then buy it or not- it is up to you. I have used it a few times when I couldn't find a deal on something. A WARNING THOUGH- if the Amazon price is really cheap, it is usually not worth asking them to price match as the Amazon price goes back up so quickly you may miss out.

It is free (or at least the free version allows you to price beat Amazon, there is a paid for version that will price match Argos and dixons among others- there seems to be a one month free trial of this, which I have not tried so may be worth signing up if you need a big ticket item or two).

Here is my referral link (this is my second and it seems greedy so if anyone else has one please put it up). If you sign up I earn points apparently that I can use to get faster offers (I'm not likely to need these so if anyone else wants to put up a referral link feel free).
