Banoffee thanks for the All things Brighton beautiful link, some really nice stocking filler ideas.

SideOrderofChip · 07/08/2016 20:30

The classic ikea play kitchen is only £65. Ours is still going strong four years on.

McNo · 07/08/2016 20:50

That's nice too Rum, thank you.

I'm going to check with her again she definitely wants a kitchen as its early I'm worried about buying a main present and she has changed her mind by Christmas.

TKRedLemonade · 07/08/2016 21:07

IKEA kitchen best present ever here. Played with every single day. I "decorated it up" but DD 2 1/2 adores it!

SteveArnottsLoverPlease · 07/08/2016 21:13

Awesome thread. I'm determined to buy early this year!

I've just bought a few things today in the Traidcraft sale, so if you know of anyone who might appreciate an ethical/unusual gift it might be of interest.

They have quite a lot on sale, some things still quite expensive, but here are a few bits and bobs:

Pencil sharpeners:

Equimum · 07/08/2016 21:20

McNo, we have the ELC retro kitchen. It's about £150 at full price, but always goes down to half price (about what it's worth) at some point. If you have space, it's nice and large, so all the kitchen accesories/ food etc can be stored in it. It's also great for multiple children playing together.

I obviously can't link to this one, but just wanted to mention checking out local independent toy shops for random bargains. I usually consider then too expcensive, but today I bought the large M&D wooden castle for £39.99 in one ear me. That's DS1s main present sorted.

McNo · 07/08/2016 21:34

Thank you TKRed and Equimum will check them both out. I like the idea of a large kitchen and we do have the space. I will keep my eye on ELC Smile

GinThief · 07/08/2016 21:50

My baby will be 8 months at Christmas, any suggestions for what I should get him? So excited for our first Christmas as a family I want to start shopping now!

Whataboutwhathuh · 07/08/2016 21:56

Clothes or balloons in a box. Baby will get loads from other people, go slow this year. First Christmas for my ds1 we just did a stocking, clothes and some board books.

GettingScaredNow · 07/08/2016 21:57

This is gonna be our first Christmas as a little trio. Me and my 2 DC.
I can honestly say I AM SO EXCITED AND CAN NOT WAIT!!
STBXH was always such a moody joy sucker.
I've been planning and prepping already!
Got quite a few pressies stashed away.
Been making scarves and hats for everyone I know with my looms Grin

FeelingSmurfy · 07/08/2016 21:57

Ginthief this one is £4.65 but that includes postage and it's plastic rather than cardboard (which the one linked is)

LancashireTea · 07/08/2016 22:01

Place marking! Massively lurked last year and it saved me a small fortune.
DD is going to be almost 2 this year so little bits won't cut it!

Whataboutwhathuh · 07/08/2016 22:06

I've got that t-shirt folder. I've had it for two years according to Amazon Grin it's a good one.

OutwardBound2016 · 07/08/2016 22:08

Long shot but has anyone seen a bargain Baby Born I can swim doll? They seem to be about £29 ish.....

woodwaj · 07/08/2016 22:11

gamma What is he showing interest in? I bought summer toys for my ds who was 9 months cozy coupe etc he also has a winter birthday so i had things ready for summer that he would be able to use. My son like things that spin so car wheels, cogs & spinning tops were a massive hit and all quite cheap!
