Not normally as organised as like the buzz of shopping in December but we have two immediate family weddings and our first family holiday in the next six months to pay for.

So I cracked on. I bought two ride on toys in January last year (I have a one and two year old so no lists yet) down to 30 pound each. They are gorgeous. Retail at nearly 100 so saved a lot.

I have three nephews - bought them three for two on Argos today (really great offers) also got stocking fillers in pound land and local toy shops (playdoh, crayons, dvds, figurines and lovely building blocks that look like people )

I have my brother and wife to buy for (joint thing but haven't a clue - maybe restaurant voucher or next voucher ) my parents

Dh gives money to his side of the family and I don't really get involved

How are you getting on ?

Got a few more bits today - BHS sale and House of Fraser sale.

I shall miss BHS, I didn't buy clothes there but the home department I found to be good.

For nursery staff (I will have this year) I was thinking of heart shaped Christmas tree decorations (from somewhere like dotcomgiftshop) and maybe chocolates

Oh I'm well ahead this year.
Why on Sunday, when family were visiting, we even got around to saying 'is it my turn this year or is it your turn or is this the year when we all say fuck it and book a restaurant'.
We'll finish that discussion about December the 20th, as we usually do....

Palomb · 26/07/2016 20:45

Ho Ho Ho! I have done fuck all. I'll make the Christmas cake at the end of August and that wil be untill at least late October..

I have pretty much everything done. All DS's presents, including the things I buy for my FIL and my youngest brother to give him. The toys he really, really wants aren't made any more and are rare-ish. So it took some serious hunting down to find them for reasonable prices. I know there is a possibility he could change his mind before Christmas but he is very one tracked so not very likely to. And I decided that even if they were no longer his first choice, he'd still love them as a surprise, which would be better than waiting an seeing if he still wants them in November and not being able to get them.

DH's gifts from me and DS are bought. And my family gift is bought as thankfully we just do a funny pass the parcel game with each other. And I got my niece and nephew sorted out last week in the 3 for 2 at Argos. All I have left to do are the toy cars I'm customising for him and I can't do those until September as I love to sit in my decorated kitchen playing Christmas music and 'making' some of his gifts. It's one of my favourite traditions, I even wear an elf hat while I do it.

SpringerS · 30/07/2016 15:27

That should be December. Not September.

Shemozzle · 30/07/2016 18:03

Well I'm due a baby on Christmas Day! So I have started early. Everyone tells me I'm deranged. I've written lists and already decided what to get everyone l, and have picked up several bits for the kids and random relatives.

BikeRunSki · 30/07/2016 18:08

None, its July.

Badders123 · 30/07/2016 18:13

Um
I've written an Amazon list for the DC
That's it
Going to try and not buy too much too soon

SideOrderofChip · 30/07/2016 20:26

DD1 ive done part of

DS1 has his birthday in September so i will concentrate on him after that

dementedma · 30/07/2016 20:29

Absolutely nothing

SharingMichelle · 30/07/2016 20:31

Those of you buying Christmas pajamas and Christmas jumpers - where on earth is selling that stuff at this time of year?

RJnomore1 · 30/07/2016 20:35

I've got the stockings bits and bobs ready to go apart from the sweets n bubble bath although I think I need more for dd2

I've got a few presents, started my ideas list, booked Xmas dinner and asked admin at work to sort out the lunch there.

Dd2 has a September birthday and I get serious after that. All the very best bargains are usually October too.

GreenShadow · 30/07/2016 20:41

Really !?
I start in December....

altik · 02/08/2016 08:43

A few bits. I have older children, so have picked up...

Dr Dre Beats - reduced with 60% off
Hollister hoody - half price sale
Jack Wills bag - half price sale
Real technique make up brushes - reduced on grouping goods.

Some will be for birthday in Nov, others for Christmas.

However I have managed to download a Christmas organiser app on my phone which I am very pleased with!

ShotsFired · 02/08/2016 08:52

OH asked me if I wanted to have Christmas lunch at the same place we did last year (local pub, we'd popped in for a drink) and booked it there and then.

I am so relieved as I was dreading the idea we might have to visit his folks (who hate me) and it's not a day-trip distance away either, so would be a stay over which would then likely escalate into several days....

Presents - not yet. I'll do a job lot shopping spree on ebay/amazon at some point.
