Oh look, it's a nun posting in the SEX topic all horrified Grin!

Not an April-Christmasser myself, I came via Active Threads, but how lovely to have this topic for those who evidently enjoy it [santa].

SparkleSoiree · 26/04/2016 09:38

I don't spend so much at christmas that I have to start budgeting in April wordsaremyeverything but I do plan from March onwards. For example, this year we're taking the kids abroad for christmas so we've booked the travel and hotel already. However we are doing a small christmas before we go for other family members so I still get to plan what gifts to buy, what menu to cook, what style to decorate in, what christmas activities to plan for the children through December, lots really! I love the planning of it because planning it in advance allows me to enjoy the build up to it.

I realise not everybody does enjoy it, for example my friend's husband refuses to have the tree up before Christmas eve and it has to come down Boxing day but he's the token grinch in our family and I think a little bit of him enjoys that role.

Now that you've started this thread it will just attract all the christmas lovers who may not have known the christmas corner was here... Grin

If people want to have year-round Christmas planning, then it's better that they can do so with like-minded individuals in a topic that the rest of us can hide and bring out on Advent Sunday.

There's loads of topics that I have no interest in, but I like it that MN has such variety.

If something harmless, that has zero impact on non-participants, makes a group of posters happy, then good.

angemorange · 26/04/2016 09:48

I'm not a Christmas maniac but finances mean I have to at least buy a few things over the year. No harm at all in people signposting bargains!

Also a useful thread for birthday present buying etc. Have some mulled wine and cake and leave us be Wine Cake Smile

SideOrderofChip · 26/04/2016 11:11

Bye Scrooge. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Leave us alone. We like Christmas. Thats why we are in here.

It brightened my start to the week when I found this topic yesterday. Still won't start christmassing in April, but the presence of all these busy Santa and Sandra Clauses on MN in spring makes me smile.

BrianCoxReborn · 26/04/2016 11:25

The Christmas topic was created to keep Maryz from imploding so people could take their festive talk off the main bosrds for 10 months of the year.

BrianCoxReborn · 26/04/2016 11:26

oh and Mary's has the topic hidden so we can say whatever we like about her in here mwahahahaa

BrianCoxReborn · 26/04/2016 11:27

Maryz

paxillin · 26/04/2016 11:28

She'll be along. This thread has made it to Active discussions.

SideOrderofChip · 26/04/2016 11:34

We'll have lots of Anti-Early-Christmassers along soon now its made active topics Sad

dizzytomato · 26/04/2016 11:35

People planning Christmas is hardly depressing Confused. Why do you assume they are going to spend lots and have an angst filled day? I think that says a lot about your own personal relationship with Christmas.

IcyTeaAndScoopyScoopyDogDog · 26/04/2016 11:36

Cant talk about Christmas in Chat, Cant talk about Christmas in Relationships, AIBU, Money Matters.

So they get a Christmas thread and cant post there either?

AuntieStella · 26/04/2016 11:36

It's not in DoftheD nor in 'trending, for me, and it won't be in Active for all those who have hidden the topic (permanently, or off-seasonally).

paxillin · 26/04/2016 11:37

No, it was in Active yesterday, no worries. It's not like you'll click on a Sporner topic in active if you're squeamish or Sex if you're a bit coy.

KittensandKnitting · 26/04/2016 11:50

Unless your that Nun you mentioned ;)

I acid you hit the spooner thread once... I ran away quickly didn't feel the need to start a post saying how horrified I was!

KittensandKnitting · 26/04/2016 11:57

Accidentally hit... My brain is non functioning today and missing the beloved autocorrect :)

GruffaloMoggy · 26/04/2016 12:00

Star Merry Crimbo Star

This has reminded me to start saving.

Ratbagcatbag · 26/04/2016 12:07

I luffs Christmas and lurk/post at will. I love the bargains, suggestions for activities and generally the planning.

Mipe · 26/04/2016 19:11

I am not a massive fan of Christmas but I do love bargains so can't wait for the 2016 threads to start! Smile

Ilovetorrentialrain · 26/04/2016 19:14
