Mine is the MegaBlocks Pirate Ship - as well as the 2 part box it had SIXTEEN of those annoying plastic covered wires holding everything together - it took me 30 minutes to undo the whole thing - AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH !!

I would agree Bratz, dd still has one still packaged as none of us can face doing it

fussymummy · 31/12/2006 00:38

You lot are so funny!!!

I've just read through all the posts and am now sat here with tears rolling down my face!!!

I haven't laughed so much in ages.

How i cursed those bloody plastic ties on christmas day!!!!!

Have 3 kids worth of packaging to undo!!!!

Why don't they just superglue the toys to the boxes!!!!!!!!!!!!

fussymummy · 31/12/2006 00:39

I forgot to say, i just loved the one about the dolls hair being tied down and her nearly ending up bald!!!!!

I actually cut one dolls hair , i was getting fed up at this point!!!!

Oh that is a big hole, perhaps my missing pressies feel in it. Poor DD we couldn't find the books she bought for her brother.

Heeeellllllooooo, anybody in there???

Twinklemegan · 31/12/2006 00:47

Have I missed something? What hole?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 31/12/2006 09:47

We had Teksta last year - it was a real b*stard to get out of the packaging. Turtle sewer lair a couple of years ago was awash with individually wrapped pieces, wire ties, selotape and incomprehensible construction instructions. a joy to behold. And have they ever played with the sodding thing? No they blimminwell haven't.

astonishedandamazed · 31/12/2006 11:06

Ooh this thread is making me giggle! Why oh why do they make this sort of packaging? And its definately a health risk cutting open the plastic packs...i have cut myself no end of times lol

Busybean · 31/12/2006 12:17

Got to be ds2's vtech play and learn fun fair thingy. the balls were all connected with plastic zip ties, connected through holes in the toy, but they were really hard to get at, and even when you did, the zip tie things had been tied so tight that you couldnt get the sciccors(sp?) under the tie to cut it off. In the end it took about 1/2hr, bloodymindedness and the toy getting sratched from the sciccors!
absoulutely stupid packaging for a babys toy imo

CaptainFlameSparrow · 31/12/2006 12:35

Peekablocks christmas train - took DH 20 mins to get into it, and that was the tearing the box to bits method!!

Crotchety · 31/12/2006 13:11

I second the Dr Who Tardis playset. Ridiculous amount of plastic ties and industrial grade packaging - I was looking for instructions on how to get it out of the box let alone how to assemble it (which took a further hour...)Typically DH (5) has played more with the box than the actual thing as it has a tendency to wobble a lot and bits fall off...or maybe that's the way I put it together...And another thing - has anyone else found it really difficult to locate the on/off switch???

Marne · 31/12/2006 13:18

Lazy Town Radio and anothert vote for Bratz and Baby Bratz doll.

nikkie · 31/12/2006 16:07

Another vote for the TARDIS playset!
Took ages to get into and those cardboard panels are crap!

angmarie · 31/12/2006 16:11

bratz defiently

FairytaleOfNewNORKSBRIDE · 31/12/2006 23:21

Polly Pocket Snow thing. Everything plastic wrapped and tied. Took DH and his penknife about 1/2 hour to get everything out.

Wouldn't you love to have the CEO of Hasbro round for Christmas lunch - you could put him in charge of unboxing all your childrens toys whilst threatening him with the toasting fork.

Wallace · 31/12/2006 23:25

Seriously we should do something about this. Not only is it annoying and timeconsuming (and dangerous ) it is also very wasteful.

We should form an action group against gratuitous packaging

Skribble · 01/01/2007 21:22

OOOHHH never mind that the big hole has closed up .
