hortense · 22/12/2006 11:46

Yes pigs in blankets ......

treacletart · 22/12/2006 11:46

I've always thought pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in a kind of pastry - more like sausage rolls.

Well, brandytutter, I did X posts with the winky willies, but I actually think I cringe less at winky willies than pigs in blankets.

Is that strange?

SueW · 22/12/2006 13:35

We don't have them. We have little sausages and bacon rolls.

flutturkey · 22/12/2006 13:37

Pigs in Blankets in an american thing, and it is sausages wrapped in some form of pastry or bread....no idea how it came to the uk and became the Christmas dinner trimming we all love. I trained as a chef when I left school, many moons ago, and one of the traditional garnishes for roast turkey is chipolata sausages wrapped in streaky bacon, and that was exactly what they were called!!!!
Enjoy your Christmas Dinner what ever you call them.
