We've just finished DS's kitchen which thankfully arrived partially assembled and only took half an hour. Better than last Christmas where one tiny wooden walker took several hours and several swear words.

Anyone else?

A bigger-than-we-were-expecting fucking climbing frame. I would have liked it in the house for Christmas Day (stupid idea, think I'd had too much sherryHmm) but looks like I will be in the muddy, cold garden tomorrow watching DS playing on it. Took hours in the cold and dark tonight to assemble and was really fucking awkward. Angry

We don't assemble Playmobil but we've only had vehicles so I think with the bigger sets like a hotel you would have to make them in advance or they would never get to play with them. It took me an hour to assemble the camper van last year. Got an suv this time hoping it's easier!

We assembled dd's little scooter which actually was not too bad. There's a ton of Lego to be Legoed tomorrow though, looking forward to doing that together.

Toddler trampoline. Took 1 hour and cost 1 marriage Blush. We've actually made a mistake and the 'skirt' doesn't sit right, but can't face dismantling it to start again.

Ball pit. Really easy to put together and utterly under-whelming. Wish I'd tried it out a few weeks ago when I could have done something about it Sad

Motorised car, only took dp about half an hour though. It needed assembling as dd wouldn't have been able to tell what it was if it was in the box and it would have been a bit meh. We've got one of those sheets to cover it as well as the dolls house which was assembled a few weeks ago as I wanted to personalise it a bit for her.

So excited!

I used to like making Playmobil. Not so much pre-releasing toys attached to the packaging by seventy million wire ties. Ugh.

Nothing this year, but DB has just requested we take 3 C batteries tomorrow for DD's present. AA, AAA, D, even those funny oblong ones I can do, or a variety of button batteries. Not C though.

DP building IKEA play kitchen. I'm drinking many snowballs.

Been there, done that Maldivemoment. I feel your pain, it takes HOURS! Good luck.

NickiFury · 25/12/2015 01:17

We had that a couple of years ago Felix. Ex H nearly sobbed when he tipped all the pieces out of the box.
