Yes simple pleasures in life I know, but, standing there at the checkout I suddenly had the "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas" feeling.

Whats the christmas purchase that makes it for you?

InQuiteAChristmasPickle · 22/12/2015 07:03

Xmas Grin I was Xmas Confused for a minute about icebergs! I thought you meant iceberg lettuce - very Christmassy! Xmas Grin

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 22/12/2015 07:06

In the 70s we used to have Harvey's Bristol cream and cheese footballs. Can you still get cheese footballs? Nostalgia on a plate!

GiraffesAndButterflies · 22/12/2015 07:21

Lol I too thought this was going to be a thread about 80s desserts Xmas Grin

Pannetonne here. (Sp?) DH loves it. He's nearly got through one already, I might surprise him tonight and pick up another. and maybe a viennetta

HellesBelles01 · 22/12/2015 07:24

Clementines and whole nuts. Takes me straight back to childhood - a bowl of each was left on the dining table with the nutcrackers.

Yy to pretzels, smelly cheese and posh pop/tonic in individual cans or glass bottles. And Cheeselets. Not obviously festive but I'm greedy and will eat them by the bucket load so only have as a Christmas treat.

Bastardshittits · 22/12/2015 07:39

I want to find some satsumas wrapped in purple tissue paper.

RoseDog · 22/12/2015 07:45

Adds vienetta to tomorrow's tesco shop...

MrsJayy · 22/12/2015 08:24

Oh i saw wrapped satsumas cant remember where maybe morrisons ? Was orange paper though

IsItMeOr · 22/12/2015 09:21

YY for the full childhood Christmas experience, it would have to include silverskin pickled onions and whole nuts.

However, as DH and DMIL don't share this one, I have found that the digestive effects of eating them all by myself are best avoided!

esiotrot2015 · 22/12/2015 09:23

MrsJayy · 22/12/2015 09:23
