I've already bought her presents but not wrapped, could return.
But is she too old for this doll? She will be 6 in February. She keeps asking for it!
I bought her baby Annabel for Christmas when she was two and she still plays with it.

No way is she too old!! My friends DD was still playing with dolls when she started high school!

mammmamia · 18/12/2015 22:44

Thanks. Might sound like a daft question but she's being teased at school because she still watches Peppa pig Blush so I'm not sure if perhaps she's young for her age.

Blimey, my little sister played with her baby born til st least 11!!!!

AuntieClimax · 18/12/2015 22:48

My DD is also 6 in February. She had hers last Christmas, and this Christmas has asked for some new accessories for it (clothes, etc).

VegetablEsoup · 18/12/2015 22:51

my 6yo is a proper dolly dad. 6 is a great age for a doll.

mudandmayhem01 · 18/12/2015 22:53

My DD played with hers till she was about 10 and still sleeps with her first doll now ( nearly 12) Queen Victoria played with her dolls till she was 16.

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 18/12/2015 22:53

DD had a double pram for her dolls for her 6th birthday recently. She takes hers everywhere. Definitely not too old for dolls!

Littleonesaid · 18/12/2015 22:54

Not too young at all IMO. My Dniece loves hers and she's just turned 7.

AuntieClimax · 18/12/2015 22:55

Just read your Peppa Pig comment.

DD came home from school the other day and told me that a few children had said to her that Peppa Pig is childish (she still watches it).

I wouldn't say my DD is particularly young for her age. Quiet, yes. She's my eldest so I have nothing to compare her to.

Littleonesaid · 18/12/2015 22:55

*old

mammmamia · 18/12/2015 22:57

DD is a twin so I've also no elder child to compare her to. I think it's the kids with elder siblings that are saying PP is babyish. My two still watch it regularly.

My Dd age 8 still plays with dolls, she does have younger sister as an excuse but she'll also slip off quietly and have her own game with one special one.

MistressMerryWeather · 18/12/2015 23:07

Och, she has loads of dolly years left!

I played with mine until I was way older.

BathshebaDarkstone · 18/12/2015 23:11

Mine was never really into the baby dolls, she's just now got into Monster High dolls and she's 8.

AuntieClimax · 18/12/2015 23:13

mammmamia That's exactly the same conclusion I came to.

All the children she was mentioning have older siblings. I told her maybe they watch older programmes because of their older brothers and sisters.

LucyBabs · 18/12/2015 23:19

I think I was 7 when I stopped bothering with dolls but I have great memories of writing my list to Santa in October and pretending I was pregnant until xmas eve and then my "baby" was born. I can still remember the happiness Smile if your dd is asking and played with her other doll regularly then why not..

I'm sure it was a typo but did a PP say their child played with dolls until they were 16?

mammmamia · 19/12/2015 00:16

A PP was referring to Queen Victoria!

Awww of course she's not too old!

Maybe I'm old, but I played with dolls until I was 11, easily.

ExBallerina · 19/12/2015 00:18

Xpost. Yay!

leccybill · 19/12/2015 00:23

Got a nearly 6yo DD here too, only child. She'll happily watch Peppa Pig in the mornings and has asked for a doll off Santa. She still plays with her 'babies' a lot.Baby Born is quite good as can go in the bath.

coffeeisnectar · 19/12/2015 00:24

I still watch peppa pig. I'm nearly 47.

Keeptrudging · 19/12/2015 00:26

DD (and some of her friends) played with her dolls until fairly recently - she's 12. They still play barbies/build a bear 😊!
