Someone may have asked this before.

I have no experience of 14 year old boys(DB hasn't been 14 since 1992 and all he's ever being into is music)
It's for my DH's cousin, who we never see so not even sure what he's into! Prob spending £8 to £10.
I picked up some juggling balls and a book but DH asked" WTH a 14yr old boy would want with those?". But since DH's not come up with any other brainwaves,I thought I'd ask some people who might KNOW some 14yr olds!!

Really appreciate your help.

PS sent the juggling balls to my 28 yr old brother instead.

I would get him CD holder or something like that.

imnot27 · 14/12/2006 12:22

I think I would send him an amazon voucher online or something, the 14 years olds I (vaguely) know are always online! He could get a video game etc on Amazon, or maybe an ebay voucher? Then he can get exactly what he wants, and he might think you are a bit cool....?

snowydelight · 14/12/2006 12:38

If you really want to make him happy, just give him the cash! I always think vouchers are a bit more tasteful, but DS1 (13) definitely prefers getting the real thing!

fairyjay · 14/12/2006 12:53

Cash always seems very welcome, but if you want a gift, what about something like a Lynx bodycare kit. My ds is 14, and is very hygeine aware these days!

I agree with snowydelight - I hate giving money at christmas - feels like you haven't given it much thought - when actually you have given it more thought than anything else!!!!

My ds is 13 and my dd is 14 - and they both want money - not vouchers!

Good luck

Put the ten pounds in a card. That will be what he really wants!

happystory · 14/12/2006 13:21

My ds is 15 and getting a 'list' out of him has been like getting blood out of a stone. If he has an ipod, itunes voucher? you can buy online. Or Virgin voucher, then he can get Cds or DVDs. Difficult if you don't know his interests.
Agree with the toiletries idea, my friend who is a secondary school teacher says she's overwhelmed every morning by the smell of Lynx!!!

blossomsmine · 14/12/2006 14:21

Agree about cash, amazon voucher, i-tunes (if has an ipod) smellies (bit boring though) funny calendar, my ds (16) likes toes socks (!) or funky wristbands, or bright belts (h&M) oh I don't know boys are so difficult!

fairyjay · 14/12/2006 14:21

Better than the 'natural' smell of 15 year olds though eh?!!

StarrmumofRoyalBeautyBright · 14/12/2006 14:26

My son is 14 and all he is into is music - did persuade him to do a Christmas list and (apart from a video i-Pod!) everything was music.

so I would agree - money or a voucher would be very well received.

spinasnowflake · 14/12/2006 18:29

Thanks everyone. I'll investigate the ipod situation. Failing that I'm sure a voucher for good old fashioned cd will do the trick.

God. Someone remind me in 11 and 14 yrs respectively to let my friend and family know what what two DS would like.
