I never bother with a dvd for Christmas Eve because there's usually something special on television.

pretend, don't do it then. But rude to make sweeping generalisations even if tempered with a passive aggressive smiley. Actually, it isn't an expense as it costs me less than a fiver and it isn't a hassle so much as a loved, joyful tradition. However, if I spent several hundreds of pounds and hours fashioning a gold leaf hamper full of foie gras and caviar, does it really matter?

Passive aggressive?

Wow, ok!

Jasper I've ditched the idea of a Christmas Eve DVD this year too now - we are staying at my mum's and dad will hog the telly anyway Xmas Grin instead we're going to put it under our tree at home so the DCs find it when we get home in the evening on Christmas Day. I know DD especially will be really sad to leave nanny's (we have to come back early because DH is working BD) so a nice family movie will be good.

My DCs are still getting their onesies on Christmas Eve and I'll put the Jolly Postman book with them. I'll probably put the colouring books (mum gave me them for their stockings, but won't mind them having another use!) with them too, as I know they'll find it hard to wind down but they can do that in the room we're sleeping in (as the telly will be on very loud in the living room)

I didn't think pretend's post was PA at all BTW

I was waiting for Scrooge to pop along, thank you for not disappointing me pretend Xmas Grin

But this is under the Christmas category, not Chat or AIBU, so I think we're allowed to indulge ourselves here.

Great ideas everyone, I love creating new Xmas traditions with my DS Xmas Smile

Quick question - are the things wrapped or just put into a Xmassy box/bag?

I love the idea and wish I had done it with mine years ago.....I might do a teenagery one :)

Celen · 14/12/2015 06:11

I wrap everything than put it all into a bag or box.

I even wrap the Pringles and stuff and they do the whole sarcastic 'oooo I have no idea what this could be' thing. Xmas Grin
