Stockings - wrapped or not!

I usually wrap all the stocking fillers, but really can't be bothered this year. I'm even lethargic with wrapping all the other presents - although did get 12 done last night.
Do you think the DS would comment if i don't wrap them?

Sorry i got distracted by the delivery man!
I have two, for DS age 8 and 6. I tend to little things - have got tattoos, bubble baths, pens, top trumps cards those kind of things

I always wrap the stocking fillers. I know it's a pain in the arse, but it does add to the enjoyment for the kids. I know what you mean, I can't be bothered with stocking fillers this year either, but it would be a shame not to, as I've done them since my eldest, now 10, was a baby. I haven't bought them yet!! I was thinking, that this year, I might keep the stockings back and give them to the little darlings on Boxing Day. Good idea?

beckybrastraps · 13/12/2006 13:59

Yep

I wrap to slow them down

We also don't unwrap other presents until after lunch (dh's thing, grrr!) so it makes stockings a bit more of an event

Beksmum · 13/12/2006 14:04

I'm sure he'll be too excited that Santa has been to even notice that they are not wrapped. Just tell yourself you're doing your bit for the environment in saving paper & waste! Beks

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 13/12/2006 14:08

Another vote for wrapping. However I have shipped all the presents to my parents house (where weare staying over christmas) and my father is wrapping them all for me .

Judy1234 · 13/12/2006 14:35

This is year 22 of my getting presents for small children. I gave up wrapping anything a few years ago. It's more environmentally sound too.

sunnysideup · 13/12/2006 14:46

wrapping definitely adds to the magic and fun for the kids......go on, you know you want to....

this year I'm going to use brown parcel paper which is recyclable as so much ordinary wrap can't be recycled....jollied up with ribbon (which is re-usable)....no reason not to now, you see, is there??????

xmasmummy · 13/12/2006 17:29

Unwrapped. How could Santa possibly have time?

paulaplumpbottom · 13/12/2006 18:06

Not, why go through the hassle?

MerryChristmasPANDAGHappyNewYe · 13/12/2006 18:18

we wrap - as already said , takes longer to open. They are already wrapped actually, did it the other night after we had checked that each child had same number of items for the stocking..

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 13/12/2006 19:00

Wrap the bigger ones to keep them occupied but not the Satsuma or the choc coins or the other small stuff

nooooo

no wrapping for stocking stuff

lornaloo · 13/12/2006 19:06

Oh you have to wrap them. Thats the best part of having a stocking, loads of little pressies to unwrap.

Lilliput · 13/12/2006 19:14

Defo wrap, my dh said his stocking as a child was never wrapped but his mother has a bit of a mean penny pinching reputation so it was probably to save money. The event of unwrapping the stocking pressies in his house was all carried out while sitting on parents bed and each child (5 in total)had to pull one present out of the stocking in turn. This dragged out the whole thing as I was to experience it for myself the first xmas I went to his mums, he was 26 and I was 21 at the time and it was very weird all of us adults in pj's exclaiming in turn what lovely items Santa had left.

santasaltire · 13/12/2006 19:25

It seems an even split then for wrapping or not wrapping!
