Now what I want to know.

And who else has it?

Dundee is not too bad for shopping, it's the people in it i worry about

1980cat · 13/12/2006 22:58

Yeah, that's sounds really scarry getting followed by someone. My favourites are the gangs of 14 years old with the buggies that fill the wellgate.

dumbledorsfairy - are you feeling better, christams concert was very nice and DD1 very happy this am not to be going otschool, LO better ish an di left DH to sort them allout this am and have saile doff to work generally happier, have got LO into nursery for extra day next week to make up for time off ill, and have bagged one of the gap year students who works at dd1 school to come and do some nannying for dd1 next week so will get to the late night shopping after work - hurrah , feel mometarily sorted.

That sounds wonderful Mummydoc! No, I am feeling no better although I took a Sudofed before bed last night and it really seemed to help with the blocked nose business so that I slept better last night than the night before. But then, of course, I felt worse this morning when I got up and my nose took its revenge! I would love to ask you your professional opinion re Sudofed. Does it really help the progress of the cold to take something that dries up your muscous? I feel I should be letting the body do what it wants, not interfering with the natural process by taking Sudofed. Any thoughts? Mind you, the sleep last night was worth it!

Otherwise, I have been going mad this morning: wrapping presents, checking 4 stocking contents, making hot pizza for ds1's party (nearly forgot that!) etc etc. Have to buy tree tomight with 4 kids in tow. Forgot to take ds3's cards into playgroup.... The list goes on and on... Still little chance I will feel well enough to do last minute shopping tomorrow so I will have to go at the weekend when dh is home to look after the children. If any of you are mad enough to be out there too this weekend, I will be the zombie with the red nose!

ultimate relief when I realised that dp has next week off (except for his work do on the wednesday) so no need to brave the mad hordes in town on a weekend.
Phew.

dumbledorsfairy - sorry for late reply spent last night consoling hysterical dd1 as daddy didn't come home to help put up tree as promised, so in good mummy fashion , imanaged to get tree into house into bucket , balance the thing, only for puppy to knock it over , balance it again and decorate it with dd1 ( drank bottle of wine - mulled with large glass of brandy chucke din for good measure) so when dh got home too pissed to be cross....personally i like sudafed, it will not hastent he end of your cold but can make you fell better along hte way, imo you need : ibuprofen 400mg 4xaday, paracetemol x2 , 4xaday and sudafed 3x aday, loads of fluids and some good tissues, and keep taking it all until better.

DumbledoresFairy · 15/12/2006 22:24

Thanks for advice mummydoc. I know the tears associated with failed promises re Christmas trees. I have had one hell of day today and did not get round to getting the tree in despite promising the children we would decorate it today. In fact, have not even cleaned up the room so the tree can go in! Dear God, what a day!

But back to the advice. Will remember for the future. My cold is finally on the way out, but dh might be interested in what you have to say as he seems to have it now. Chuckle!
