I want inspiration!

We always make the same things;

Xmas pud (made)
Xmas cake (made)
Stained glass window biscuits for the tree
Gingerbread men
Gingerbread house (I cheat and buy the kit from Lidl)
Mince pies

This year I want to make more with the children, including cookies for Fc but I need to find a recipe first.

I will also make sausage roll to freeze, red cabbage, cranberry sauce and stuffing.

What are you making? What do you always make?

Another cheater here!

I'm ordering the turkey cooked for the first time ever, and it comes with roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots and gravy. I will make homemade chestnut stuffing, red cabbage (and sling it in the freezer to be reheated on the day), pigs in blankets (also prepped and in the freezer) and fresh cranberry sauce. If I have time I'll probably also pre-prepare some parsnips and mashed potatoes. Basically all things that I can make ahead of time so I can relax on the day with everyone else and not end up spending all day in the kitchen.

Later in the day we'll be having Christmas pudding with homemade brandy custard, a salted caramel buche de noel and chocolate orange trifle and I'll put out a cheeseboard with some cold meats/pate and nice bread for those who are still hungry in the evening.

My main cooking for Christmas is actually for our annual Christmas party next weekend where we're having:

Smoked salmon and cream cheese on home made chive blinis (done and in the freezer)
Stuffing 'sausage' rolls (done)
Pigs in blankets with a honey mustard glaze (done)
Camembert/Pate and cranberry on baguette slices
Pea and feta crostini
Mozzerella, tomato and olive skewers
Mini baked potatoes with sour cream and caviar

Cranberry and pistachio biscotti (done)
Peanut butter sugar sparkle cookies (done)
GF brownie bites (done)
Mini fairy cakes (done)
Gingerbread (done)
Mini red velvet cupcakes

It'll all be served with a white Christmas sangria (white wine with a little cider, apples, rosemary and cranberries) or mulled apple juice for the littlies/those not drinking.

We also typically have cheese fondue sometime between the 23rd and New Year's and a panetonne bread and butter pudding as a treat at some point too..... and then wonder why none of our clothes fit come January 1st!!
