Printing Stamps for 3yo

DD2 (3) got a pack of 3 of those cheap stamps from the lucky dip at the school fair and she really loved them. Course they didn't last long but everything is stamped now

Anyway I thought what an excellent cheap pressie for her - she needs a couple more small things. So off I trotted into town expecting to find a large pack in smiths or wollies but nothing!!!!! Not even in the discount store.

So I thought I'd look on ebay and instead I got loads of those rubber stamps that you use with an ink pad. Well it got me thinking that these will last much better but is it ridiculous to give a 3yo an ink pad. Am I asking for trouble. They are also more expensive of course but less disposable.

So which sort should I go for? And where should I get them from?

If you go for the ink pad - make sure it is washable ink. I think ELC do washable ink pads.

crayola do some sort of pen stamps. they looked pretty good - they are like a pen but instead of a point at the end they have a shape etc (does that make sense). Saw them in woolies yesterday. gets away from the ewhole ink pad thing!

Baker Ross do self-inking stamps. If you do a search for stamps, several sets come up.

seen them in argos catalogue - in the craft bit.

Argos - blimey never thought of there. Will have a look now. Was in there this morning as well.

I saw the stamper pens on ebay too - they look like a good idea. Didn't have them in our woolies though, in fact the shelves were pretty empty all round.
