Cocopops

MerlinsBeard · 12/12/2006 10:05

u must be joking. cornflakes, same as everyday coz our budget doesn't change to allow for things like that at xmas

Donbean · 12/12/2006 10:14

OH GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tradition in our house, the in laws and my mother come Christmas morning and we have a HUGE fry up with the works...MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmm
Then Chrismas dinner at tea time.

chopchopbusybusy · 12/12/2006 10:14

I always let the children have chocolate for breakfast on Christmas Day. I know -irresponsible Mum - but they know it's the only day of the year they can do this - they will probably have something else too! DH and husband and I will usually have omelette or similar - no different from usual weekend brekkie. We don't usually start on the booze until after midday!

swedishmum · 12/12/2006 10:15

Panettone and apricot jam. Hold off on the alcohol in the morning - I like it at the time but it puts me to sleep if I drink in the day!

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 12/12/2006 10:21

Another one for the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, croissants and champers/bucks fizz. It is traditional for my dad to do the breakfast (he even insists on making freshly squeezed orange juice) .

Lizzylou · 12/12/2006 10:22

Panettone and champagne (not for DS's obv)

EniDeepMidwinter · 12/12/2006 10:27

no alcohol here for me (makes the day a disaster)

I have tried special festive breakfasts but tbh everyone just wants porridge - quite nice to be a bit frugal before the Big Meal. And the dds eat chocolates

Gingerbear · 12/12/2006 10:31

I like bagels, smoked salmon and cream cheese. No booze though.

Will have to forgo the smoked salmon this year unless i eat it cooked with scrambled eggs on toast.

To be honest, as we will be having a feast on Christmas eve with my brother this year, we will probably not feel much like breakfast until late morning, and as Christmas lunch has to be at 1.30 (mum and dad like to eat early) we will probably stick with a slice of toast.

blueamema · 12/12/2006 10:33

Oh yes, yipeee can?t wait!
Usually about 9am?.. Croissants, grape fruit, fruit nut cereal (but can?t find any this year?? Does any buy fruit nut? Know where I can get any?) and lots of OJ and coffee to help recover from Christmas eve bubbles! LOVE IT

Followed by pressies!!!

lou33 · 12/12/2006 10:34

i dont usually have breakfast, and the kids eat their chocolate

admylin · 12/12/2006 10:50

We all have coffee and toast , saving ourselves for the dinner.

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2006 10:50

Pancakes & champagne

Charleesawmummykissingsanta · 12/12/2006 11:04

Beakfast????

We are far to busy with pressis for breakfast!!!!!

NOELallie · 12/12/2006 11:06

Real coffee and grapefruit(for me) and croissants with apricot jam (has to be apricot). DH and DS#1 usually have bacon in their croissant.

I eat sugar-free most of the time but Xmas breakfast is the start of my time-off for Christmas. Lovely.

Polgara2 · 12/12/2006 12:19

Am amazed that you all have time to concentrate on special breakfasts!!! Takes me all my time to get them to eat at all on Christmas morning and I certainly don't feel like standing in the kitchen!

NOELallie · 12/12/2006 12:44

polgara - I don't waste time worrying whether my kids eat on Christmas day ! That's up to them. It's the one day when they can stuff themselves with chocolate from their stockings all day if they wish

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 12/12/2006 13:10

We don't have a special breakfast on christmas day but it is a family tradition to eat porkpie for breakfast on boxingday. It is something my gtrandfather used to do and has just sort of stuck.

Tommy · 12/12/2006 13:13

I love the idea of croissants and/or pannetone with real coffee but really I need my bran flakes.....

cori · 12/12/2006 13:23

We have coffee and Panetone.

We have scrambled eggs and smoked salmon (with truffles if we can afford it) for boxing day breakfast.

RosaLuxembourg · 12/12/2006 13:37

I make Nigella's Christmas muffins and also have croissants and pain au chocolate, orange juice and the children are allowed to eat some of their chocolate Santa Claus. No champagne until just before lunch, otherwise it would never get cooked and I'd still be in my pjs at teatime.
