Have my family coming over mid-morning to do pressies and to have some brunch.

I need some odeas - whether homemade or shop-bought (and stuff that won't take me ages to do in the morning.

Ok, so far I have:
Champagne (obv)
Smoked salmon (but not convinced I know what to do with it - on toast?!)
Perhaps some cut-up bagels with cream cheese

thats it!!

Any ideas most appreciated.

We usually serve toasted pannetone (or brioche) and a luscious fruit salad - mango is delicious at this time of year.
The salmon can go in the bagels. If you want to up the vitamins a little, peppery rocket goes really nicely with smoked salmon and cream cheese.
Another nice dish, but which does require watching, is eggs Benedict with spinach. Tbh I just lob the spinach in the scrambled eggs

make a christmassy kedgeree with the salmon
basket of bread and croissants
plate of cut up fruit
pigs in blankets ( cocktail size for kids)

replace the haddock with salmon

If you're doing a big roast later, I'd be tempted to just buy a few boxes frozen party food from Tesco!
Keep it light though, more fresh fruit than bready things if you can. Maybe some filled wraps, rolled and sliced into mini rolls.

We have smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagels, or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or bacon sarnies for meat eaters.

DH often starts on the cheese and fruit for breakfast too.
