Annuals for a 9 year old??

Have bought Famous Five and Horrible Histories annuals for the last two years, just wondering whether they would be a bit young at 9.5 - but can't think of any alternatives.

Amazon searching has not helped me!

My 8.5 year old reads her annuals more than anything else! She has The Beano, Angry Birds amongst others. I find that Argos is good for them, they're usually fairly cheap there too.

Horrible Histories Annuals were still popular with my boys at 10-11 years old, so 9 is fine. Other popular ones at that age were things like Beano and Minecraft.

Thanks, I will look at Beano - she wouldn't go for minecraft, spends all her life reading or making elaborate lego creations and doesn't get the point of lego that is not actual lego - very vocal about it too .

What are annuals?

I just discovered the Horrible Science annual - haven't seen that one before, she will like that too - it popped up when I put HH in my basket.

Very tempted to buy myself the 80th Rupert annual.

Horrible histories would go down a treat with my 9 yo girl. We have got her the national geographic kids almanac because she is animal mad.

A lot of 9 year old girls I teach love the Hacqueline Wilson books. If she's into those, there's a Jacqueline Wilson annual as well. Does she like fact stuff as well, as both mine loved the Guiness Book of World Records at that age as well.
Not sure if you've seen but all Annuals are half price in WHSmiths at the moment as well!

We have got the NG thing Mrs, that was last year, I thought it was a one off but maybe it is every year. I will have a look.

I have seen the JW annual Lady, we did go to see Hetty Feather at the theatre and she has read the books but I can't decide whether to buy that one. She is a really good reader and would read a JW book in three hours in one sitting.

I am hoping to take her to the Foundling Hospital Museum in the Christmas Break so was planning to have a look through it in a shop to see if it was something she would enjoy. Thanks re WHS, I didn't know that.
