...so what the hell is it about seeing my kids on stage in their Christmas nativity/show, that makes me want to blub like Gazza...?

Even thinking about DD2's tomorrow brings a lump to my throat.

My eyes fill up as they come on stage - you are not alone.

Poufter

WanderingTroll · 10/12/2006 11:36

Oh Christ I start getting misty eyed too and I am heartless and mean and I hate schmaltz and all things schmaltzy.

That's not the worst bit.

I'm a childminder. They're not even my kids.

HuwEdwards · 10/12/2006 12:05

lmao @ WanderingTroll. Am not that bad - I don't give a flying about anyone else's.

Snowy, I'm sure Jesus is lying.

( - am I allowed to even write that?)

I get giggly and tearful, not a pretty sight! even just thinking about it, it is okay in the summer at sports events I can wear shades, but this is going to be very public crying/laughing

I am new to the area too, so don't even have a friend with me to laugh at me!

I am also not generally sentimental, well not in public

Write away HuwEdwards, Sheraz implied last night that the only way we know Jesus is Welsh is due to the proliferation of sheep in the barn that night.

The blasphemy benchmark has been set.

FairytaleOfNewNORKSBRIDE · 10/12/2006 13:04

I had loads of tissues up my sleeve in preparation for 'Away in a Manger' but I managed not to cry. I bet all the other mummies think I'm a heartless bitch!!!

sockmonkey · 10/12/2006 13:59

I was hugely upset last year cos I missed my little boy being Joseph, as Dh decided to pass out in the kitchen, and I had to drive him into A&E.
DMIL took the boys, but he wouldn't stay up on the stage anyway, he wanted to run around the hall instead.... maybe it's best I wasn't there afterall

belgianmama · 10/12/2006 17:03

Ah, know how you feel. I'm sure I'll be doing the same. At his first ever ski lesson in the Snow Dome 2 weeks ago I was jumping up and down giggling and making squeeky I'm-so-proud noises every time he slid down withoug falling . All other mums looked at me as if I was some weirdo, but then when I spoke Dutch to my ds they all understood. I'm not from around here and all was forgiven

HuwEdwards · 10/12/2006 17:09

ah yes, BMama, they all gave knowing 'she's foreign' looks to eachother

I cry at everything , sometimes fight of tears in assembly at work when someone has achieved something big!(not a good look when I am facing 100 people )
