WhyDooLittleStarsShine it is difficult. Friends of ours had a miscarriage recently & normally are very keen to hear about our wee one. I've sent them a Christmas Card no picture included with a heartfelt hand written message. I know friends & family where very considerate with us over the years.

PrincessPeaHead · 12/12/2006 11:12

right liat, so because your baby may be ill (for which I'm very sorry), nobody else is allowed to have healthy ones? or they are but you'd rather not know about it?

I think that is horrible

EniDeepMidwinter · 12/12/2006 11:13

pph I want one

tbh I would have liked to do one of my three this year (for the reasons pph has said - lots of friends/relatives miles away)

PrincessPeaHead · 12/12/2006 11:18

of course madam

how far are you from longleat? thinking about these childrens clothes, and I'll be around there after new year.... will send you an email

katzg · 12/12/2006 11:24

probably get shot down for this but this year all our friends and family will be getting a christmas cards with our girls on the front dressed up as a shepherd and an angel with 'whilst shepherds watched .....' written on the front.

They were playing dress up and i asked them to pose for a photo and got a great one which i have used.

i love getting pictures of other peoples childrem, like others here its great to see how they have grown ect.

Just a quick straw poll though DD1's godparents lost twins at 20weeks back in Oct should i send them a different card?

liatHoHoHo · 12/12/2006 11:25

PPH they are - but I'd rather not know about it.

EniDeepMidwinter · 12/12/2006 11:38

I think they are really cool and love receiving them from friends and family!

BudaBauble · 12/12/2006 14:44

Think I'm sorry I resurrected this thread!

oliveoil · 12/12/2006 14:48

does everything have to be analysed these days or what? Send it, don't send it, whatever

and I have used analysed twice today and keep sniggering at anal

I desperately need a life

blueamema · 12/12/2006 14:48

Totally agree that some times photos of babies aren't appropriate as I had m/c 3mths ago and still get down from time to time.

But I send them as I know family and friends like to see dd (especially in silly costume!! as seen in link)and will put them on the mantle to look at and smile at throughout the festive season.

EllieHsMum.... thanks I know she is... doesn't get it from me!
Sittingbull.... well said ~~ tis the season to be jolly!!!!

LittleSarah · 12/12/2006 15:00

I am with custardo, has never occurred to me to send pic of dd. Other than grandparents.

The idea of someone I rarely see sending me a picture of their child? Odd, what will I do with it? Have a quick look and then chuck in the bin? Or keep and find next year and think who the hell is that??

If it was a close relative I wouldn't mind but I wouldn't expect it as I would assume I would already have photos.

LittleSarah · 12/12/2006 15:02

The ones with kids dressed up are a little different as clearly they are supposed to be part of the Christmas card.

Still, totally and utterly naff. Ugh.

BudaBauble · 12/12/2006 18:48

Well have a couple of spares here of my DS looking totally gorgeous as a king - anyone want one?

dara · 12/12/2006 19:01

How rude people are about something harmless. I am surprised some of you get any cards at all, or have friends to send them. Yes, it's not exactly cutting-edge cool, but they aren't intended to be. When I get them, they make me smile. And I appreciate the effort put in to making them.

blueamema · 12/12/2006 19:46

dara

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 12/12/2006 19:56

We have had one so far and it was very cute!

SenoraPostrophe · 12/12/2006 21:10

dara.

and at the snobbery displayed on this thread! I haven't printed my photos yet but I'm still going to (though without santa outfits).

oops forgot dara well said!!!!!!!

liatHoHoHo · 13/12/2006 10:56

Only on MN could a topic like this attract such controversy !

Actually got a double whammy a couple of days ago of naff/delightful depending on your point of view card with grinning kiddies PLUS two pages worth of turgid round robin. Boy, did that push ALL my buttons......[scrooge emoticon]
