If i'm cooking then:

Turkey
Ham cooked in Cola
Carrots and parsnips in honey
Sprouts with bacon and chestnuts
Stuffing (not really arsed what kind as i don't really eat it)
Roasted potatoes
Sausages wrapped in bacon
Cabbage in butter
Bread sauce, gravy, cranberry sauce
And weirdly (or maybe not) as my whole family eat them with all roast dinners Yorkshire puddings.

Pudding is christmas pudding or warm mince pies with cream/ice cream.

I only do it every other year though and if we go to PIL then as above but no ham, bread sauce or yorkshire puddings.

GoboTheGoat · 10/11/2015 14:14

Last year we had chicken instead of turkey. I am toying with the idea of a small turkey crown or a turkey breast this year, along with the chicken.

As well as that we will have ham, cocktail sausages, homemade roast potatoes, mashed potatoes (frozen from Iceland), carrots, peas, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. DH will have a yorkshire pudding, but I don't like them.

We usually have pudding at PILs in the late afternoon.

We have mince pies and cream for pudding on xmas eve, remembering to leave one for Santa.

LimboNovember · 10/11/2015 14:15

anything except turkey. no one likes it.

we have had rib of beef....goose, duck, and pheasant.

FuzzyWizard · 10/11/2015 18:45

Have just realised we go a bit mad at Christmas but it's the way it's always been.
Always a starter and usually 2-3 options due to fussy eaters (my dad and sisters). My sisters only like melon for starter and my dad says it's not Christmas if he doesn't get a prawn cocktail. Hmm
Dinner- Turkey, Beef, Ham in Cola
2-3 stuffing varieties. (Usually sage and onion, pork and chestnut and pork and spiced fruits)
Roast Potatoes
Roast parsnips and carrots
Sprouts sautéed with bacon and white wine
Red cabbage
Some other green veg
Yorkshire pudding
Cranberry Sauce
Gravy

Usually Christmas pud and another option for dessert.

The main meal tends to be a joint effort with me and my mum and if she's joining us then my man all contributing to the cooking. We always serve up family-style and propel help themselves to what they fancy. A key purpose of Christmas dinner is to provide Boxing Day leftovers though so we don't worry about there being too much food.

I'm away this year and a bit sad I'll be missing out on it all.

FuzzyWizard · 10/11/2015 18:46

Forgot pigs in blankets and swede

NutCrackerSlacker · 10/11/2015 18:47

Geaterthanthesumoftheparts I LOVE Ris Alamande Grin.

Some Danish friends make it for me most years at Christmas and I polish it off on Boxing Day. Divine!

Notso · 10/11/2015 18:54

Depends this year.
If my parents, DSIS and her family come here then the same as Pengweng but without Yorkshire puddings and with mashed potatoes and cauliflower cheese.

If my parents go to DSIS and it's just the 6 of us then lasagne and salad.
