Struggling with ideas for 7 yr old girl

I've got her stocking sorted.

She is getting a Leap Pad Platinum for her main present, but I'd like 2 or 3 other (reasonably cheap) tree presents, but can't think what.

Any ideas?

franksidebottom - How does your dd melt the chocolate? DD1 would love to make chocolate shapes but not keen if it makes a lot of mess!

I've been tracking Leapfrog games on CCC (have bought the Xdi Ultra for DD1) and they have been fluctuating in price. Am assuming you will be getting a few of those for her Leappad?

I have bought some Disney princess ones (maths/science) all at under 10 pounds, and a Frozen reading one (lowest price at 10.94 at the mo) plus a Barbie one (7.99). Also got a Mr Doodle, or a creativity one at a low price too. They are a ridiculous price otherwise!!

Agree with poster upthread who mentioned Aquarellum water colour sets. DD got one which we started last weekend. She is not yet 6 and needs supervision. So probably perfect for your slightly older daughter. You can frame the painting afterwards and hang them on the wall! They're really pretty.

I second password journal / secret diary. I bought one relatively cheap from Amazon for her birthday and she loves it. Do keep the instructions in a safe place - it needs unlocking often as she keeps changing and forgetting the password!

My daughter did some embroidery at school and now wants a proper set. She's also a maker.

Spottythedogwink - you just melt the chocolate in the microwave. Not used the moulds before as I've got them for her for christmas, but when we cook using chocolate bars that's how we melt it. I get sainsburys basic choc bars about 30 I think and it tastes lovely, you can also get white choc. I bought the moulds off amazon but I have seen some in poundland

Your welcome, and no mess involved with melting the chocolate as I would be hyperventilating if there wasGrin, just melt the choc very slowly in the microwave and keep checking it so it doesn't burn, takes less than a minute. My dd wanted the choc coin maker but the reviews were so crap. Altogether the moulds and the chocolate cost roughly £4. The other mould i bought are hearts with sticks to make into lollies and i will get some cellophane so she can wrap the lollies up once made. Once used i think you can rebuy the sticks they only cost £1 so wont break the bank to restock.

if she likes making what about a subscription to something like toucan boxes - you would get your first one in time for Christmas or they do just sell boxes on their site without subscription. I think there are similar things for baking etc
