I got DS some lovely ones from next, they have tartan bottoms and the top has a reindeer on with stars, the bottoms don't have cuffs, I prefer the baggy ones. I got him a size 7-8 but I am not sure what size they go up to. I also got the baby some sleepsuits from next - an elf one with matching hat Grin and a 2 pack with christmas puddings etc on. So cute.

We go to Asda every year and all choose some. They have lovely designs and are dead cheap.

Last year I just bought Primark ones for my son, Olaf from Frozen so they had the Christmassy feel with it being a snowman but can be worn all year long. I also bought him a beautifully soft Olaf onesie from Tesco. Both were put in his Christmas Eve box. He still wears them now.

I love receiving new pyjamas on Christmas eve. I have done since I was a child. My husband, however, had never heard of it until I bought him pyjamas for our first Christmas together. I was gobsmacked when he said he'd never received new jarmies for christmas eve as a child. Apparently it's not the 'done thing' where he's from.........I'm from the North East, so according to DH we have 'weird' traditions lol x

We tend to go with the John Lewis ones from the adverts so will probably get Man on the Moon this year

Mine get their Christmas themed PJ's on Dec 1st along with advent calendars. The Elf brings them.
They get new PJ's to wear on Christmas Eve but they aren't christmas themed.
This year I have just ordered from ebay as I really couldn't find anything I fancied elsewhere

For younger kids (babies to around 7) the seller VAENAIT on eBay has the most gorgeous sets. We've bought three years running. Beware the sizes come up small though.

Boden always do nice colourful ones and they last forever. A few people have mentioned John Lewis - I have had several pairs from JL in different sizes and styles over the years and they always have the same problem - they lose their shape in the wash, becoming shorter and wider. Shame, because they do some nice designs, but then scrimp by using cheap cotton. I have had the same problem with other JL own brand clothing too. If you want to buy from John Lewis I would recommend the Hatley brand.
I have only bought pjs from Primark for younger children ( up to age 5) but they never fit my children. I have always found the waist on the pj bottoms to be enormous, and the tops and bottoms never fit at the same time.

I agree - they are nice, but would just reiterate that they are VERY small! I bought their largest size last year for my then 6-year-old, who is average height and slim build, and they were too small. Was so disappointed as they were so cute! But my friend with a 4-year-old benefited from a lovely new pair of PJs Grin

How about these from Next for your DD? The ones I've bought for my DD have always washed up really well.

Or a onesie maybe?

NOW I know why there are always such amazing sales for kids' PJs after Christmas. I had genuinely always wondered, and never heard of this (lovely) tradition.

Being tight-fisted, I shall start this tradition in my family next year, after buying in the sales this.

I do really like the PJs from Trotters though, if anyone's willing to spend that much, and Cologne & Cotton, too.

"Tesco's have some lovely ones in this yr! Even got myself a pair"

Me too Isabella. I got myself a lovely pair of gingerbread man/lady pjs. DH was a bit bemused when I suddenly appeared with Christmas pjs in the middle of the grocery shop. [santa] They also had a lovely pair of robin ones.

Hadiever · 08/11/2015 23:27

Thanks for the info on the eBay pjys. I am tempted to order some but worried about the sizing. My (will be 4 by Christmas year) year old is quite small but chunky would I go for the largest or not?

fuzzpig · 09/11/2015 18:02

We've got DS a Big Hero Six onesie from Asda :o haven't found one for DD yet
