Gift ideas for hubby who 'doesn't need anything'

I'm completely at a loss as to what to get my dh for Xmas. There is nothing he really needs or wants [his words] and so I'd like to get him something out of the ordinary or a bit unusual. He's quite a gadget fan and likes his' toy's' but nothing naff or disposable.
Perhaps tickets to something in the Berks or Berks/ Hants area if anyone has any suggestions - Comedy preferably. He loves 'The Pub Landlord, Tittybangbang, Catherine Tate' etc.

if he's quite a chef than that's a reason to get him a posh cookery lesson, not a reason not to. I got dh a morning at Prue Leith's a couple of years ago and arranged with a friend that she shold get the same for her dh so they could go together. they loved it.

I've done the DAB, a freeplay radio, they went down well.

Again, this year I have defaulted to technical lego. Hope it goes down well!

fairyjay · 06/12/2006 10:16

May not suit your dh Tilly, but my dh is a keen swimmer, and for his birthday I bought him goggles with an MP3 player attached, that can be used while you swim.

Got lots of browny points for that.

Try driverskills.com for driving days. dh did the skid pan one a few years ago, but they also do race cars, rally cars, off roaders, etc.

A Ukelele! (My stock answer to the man gift question now) Only £15-30 plus a How To book, apparently they are very easy and you can wow your friends with George Formby style metal numbers (or sounds of soul if you must.) And they come in pretty colours.

I am in awe at the idea of goggles with inbuilt mp3 players. what on earth will they come up with next?

sis · 06/12/2006 19:55

how about this but I agree with Lou - how about the advert at the top of the page?
