I'm new here and hope you lovely ladies can help me.I would like suggestions for some nice little gifts for my adult daughters stockings. There are five of them and they are all different personalities. So far I have the Molton Brown baubles.I don't want to put things like socks and knickers in but am looking for lovely things that they probably wouldn't buy for themselves IYSWIM.I am trying to do this as cheaply as possible and have a maximum budget of £50 each. Thanks in advance for your help.

Ooh marking place. Two adult DDS here. Must Google MoltonBrown baubles. Nice candle - Isle of Skye candles are gorgeous and they do small ones too. Lush bathbomb. Nice nail polish. Earrings.

Posh chocolate bars? Green & Black or similar are often on offer.

recklessgran · 25/10/2015 15:34

Ooh lovely suggestions already-thank you so much! Forgot all about lush, they would all like something from there.
demented - I used this code for £15 off a £30 shop at Molton Brown HOUSE15

Oh thanks reckless. I think I will get two of these for the dds

RevealTheHiddenBeach · 25/10/2015 15:40

A lovely handcream (maybe split a posh set or two - there's some crabtree & evelyn sets on offer in Marks atm), and a decent lip balm/gloss are always useful to have. A nice magazine takes up lots of space, or a book?

dementedma · 25/10/2015 16:29

Lottery ticket

Littlemousewithcloggson · 25/10/2015 16:59

Book - split a pack from the book people
Suzuki/crossword book and nice pen
Nice gloves/scarf
Yankee candle (samplers are only a pound)
Luxury hot chocolate with a China mug (design to their taste)
Face mask
Foot lotion
Atomiser
Perfume
Bath bomb
Hand cream
Slippers

Lush bath bombs. A real treat you don't normally buy for yourself! Although if you go on amazon and put in 'bomb cosmetics' you can get products very similar to lush but at a much cheaper price. They do gift sets of 5 items so you can split it up.
I just bought this one to go in my sisters advent calendar I'm making her! They are really big and look gorgeous.

Pen camera (about a fiver on amazon)
Keyring compass
'She believed she could, so she did' bracelet from etsy
Keyring memo pad from muji

Also, do your daughters have pierced ears? If they don't, well I have just discovered the etsy clip-on and cuff sections for earrings - OMG!!

Cans of pre-mixed drink? Gin and tonic, cocktail, even classy soft drink e.g. Belvoir farm raspberry lemonade in can or bottle of fentimans, whatever they might drink. Reasonably bulky for £1.50-£2ish.

Nice little packs of chocolates e.g. The taster packs from hotel chocolat are three for £10, I think. Those giant bourbons/custard creams that you get in Costa are 85p from Tesco bakery - I've always fancied trying one!

Little miniatures of nice shampoos, conditioners etc from Boots or similar for if they go away for the weekend.

Clinique tend to do Xmas gift packs of mini chubby sticks that would split up well. My DD bought me a four pack last year (think it cost approx £20) and I've just about used up three of them, just wearing to work on lazy days as an easy option. The fourth colour is no good for me but with five to buy for you'd probably find something suited everyone if you split a pack. I would also be barefaced on the Clinique counter about what I was doing and ask for samples - they can be incredibly generous. Last time I bought two chubby sticks for a present I got six decent samples added which really bulked it out. Also save any samples you get with regular purchases, magazines etc.

Some of the cheap nail polishes can be really good e.g. I bought maybelline superstay 7 nail polish which looks like a gel after reviews on here and was pretty impressed. It's rrp is only £4.49 and its frequently on 3 for 2. Fab range of colours so really fun to pick for their personalities/styles and see if they think you got it right.

I'd browse around paper chase for stationery bits, again matching choices to each DD.

I think if you don't buy a few cheaper bits and pieces to add bulk it's going to be hard to do a whole stocking on £50.

mysteryfairy · 25/10/2015 20:55

Ooh if they are brave look on the Korean skincare threads on the style and beauty board. Looks like there are all sorts of interesting things that could be had on eBay but with delivery from Korea I'm guessing you'd have to order quite soon!

chanie44 · 25/10/2015 21:26

Depending upon how big the stockings are, you may need to get some space fillers eg

Hot water bottle
Giant chocolate Santa
Note pad

thesnailandthewhale · 28/10/2015 14:49

M&S do some nice bathroom accessories such as a pillow for the bath and one of those wraps for your hair when its wet. My Mum always gets me a couple of them and they are lovely :)
Some nice fluffy socks are always nice for after a bath too.
A new air freshener for their cars?

CakeNinja · 28/10/2015 15:08

Your lucky dds! My mum stopped doing me a stocking aged 10 Grin
I always hoped dp would do me one but he isn't very thoughtful about the little bits I might like and to be honest, I do tend to buy myself things I need as and when, but still...!
Everyone has had some good ideas above, not sure I've anything to add other than you sound like a lovely mum and I'm still going to do my dc stockings long after they've grown up Smile

recklessgran · 28/10/2015 15:40

Ah,thanks cake you just made my day.Your message made me quite teary [but in a nice way!]The fact is that there are big age gaps between my girls [2 in 2 years,a seven year gap then 1,then a six year gap and two in a year.] There was never a right time to start dropping them and they all say their stockings make Christmas for them.I did suggest stopping a couple of years ago but they said please no,we'd rather not have any other presents-just the stocking. So,I've carried on and I do love doing it for them-just running out of ideas after all these years!.Long story but had awful Christmases as a child so always make a big effort for my lovely girls-they [and my DH] are my world.I LOVE Christmas.Feel so much better about it thanks to all you lovely MN's.I was a tiny bit shy and afraid of coming on here but my heart bursts every time somebody takes the time to post their thoughts. Thanks everyone-you've helped so much! [DH is clueless when it comes to ideas and my friends all think I'm bonkers for still doing stockings.]

recklessgran this sounds just like our family! We are all adults, now, (DBs are 26 and 29 and I will be 31 before Christmas) and my mum still does a stocking for each of us (she also does one for my DP and now my DS and I do one for her). I know that my brothers and I would be most saddened if she decided to stop. She loves doing them, too.

For your DDs, If you can get to an Accessorize they have some lovely bits (I think they have a sale on, too).
You could hand pick a Christmas tree decoration for each of them, perhaps?
The Body Shop also has some small bits on sale. I like the look of this chocolate lip butter and this hand cream.
Maybe miniature bottles of champagne or their favourite booze?
