What to put on pre-teen DS's advent?

We've outgrown the Playmobil advents and the Lego advents. Older DD gets a shoebox of 24 little gifts, such as pencils, notebooks, decent pens, etc, as she does a lot of art. Not sure what equivalent to do for DS though. Did pens and some little Lego bits for him last year year - he liked the idea but wasn't as impressed with pens!
He's into Scouting, Marvel and Minecraft.
Any ideas for what to put together for him that won't break the bank? Thanks!

If he likes scouting, does he have a camp blanket? In which case some cloth badges to sew in it would be good...

A torch and a compass for 2 of the days maybe?

Amazon have loads of little mine craft bits such as:

He does have a camp banket with abundant earned and fun badges, plus places we've been to, but I shall try to find some Marvel ones if I can. Torches and compasses we have in abundance.
I have now got some Minecraft stickers and pencils on order. :-)

It doesn't exactly fall into the "bargainous" category but did you know you can get Lego mini figures personalised to look like your scout? DS had one in his cracker last year and it's brilliant, you just choose the hair colour, glasses etc and upload a photo of their scarf colours.

What about a set of minecraft lego? Split it up over a number of days, cut up the instructions ( or photocopy them first) and put the corresponding piece in the pocket with the lego. The number of days you can split it into depends on the size of the set.
Alternatively, don't give him the instructions but let me put it together as he chooses, then give him the instructions at the end.

We have those minifigs :-) (Scout son and Guide daughter) They are wonderful. Well worth spending the extra to get the correct necker. Quite a few of their printed tiles and other figs featured in last year's advent (minions, Adventure Time...)
