Or is my 7-month-pg SIL just being a bit...grasping??
Was told today that of course they were expecting the foetus would get christmas presents.
I would like to blame hormones (and first-time-mother-syndrome ).

Oh and of course I won't be buying something for a person not yet born to open on Christmas Day.

Hoxton how could you be furious about recieving a gift?

paulapb, are you serious?

God, she must have been talking to my MIL who bought my 13 week old foetus a Molton Brown baby gift set 2 years ago. ds2 is 17 months now and the set remains largely unused. My SIL was pg this time last year and even went into early labour on 23rd Dec. I didn't buy anything even then as the baby would have been a month early.

My Mum started buying when I was about 12/13 weeks, she bought loads of blue clothes as she had a hunch I was carrying a boy. 20 week scan showed distinct lack of a penis so she's started again in pink now! tbh I've blocked it out, thrown the stuff on top of the wardrobe and pretending it doesn't exist.

hoxtonchick · 04/12/2006 20:33

i thought it was really inappropriate ppb. and most other people on this thread seem to agree with me . ds was born at the end of january & i got a few baby presents the christmas before, but they were actually given to me. i was cross then too! pregnancy hormones a-go-go.
