I like to get a new game at Christmas but I can't decide which. We now have the usual cluedo, monopoly, mousetrap.

I have DS7 and DD4 - I was thinking of Cadoo or something along those lines but am a bit stumped and don't want to shell out for something without a recommendation.

Do you have any games youlove or hate for that matter!

Uno. Fab card game and it won't bore you to death, either

I am getting Cadoo this year for my two (3 and 5 and a half) I know DD2 will need help but DD1 is bright and will enjoy it. They love Disney Guess Who (youngest can play without reading the names on this one as she can recognise all the characters so enjoys not needing me to play with her).

Cadoo is great as are all the cranium games we have! Ziggity is a really good card game.

Disney Trivia is great and has adult and child cards (although I play the child cards and DD 8, still beats me every time). It's got pictures of Disney films and then questions such as who's the character, what's the film, who's Aerials best friend, who did Gaston want to marry etc etc.

Usually takes us between half an hour to an hour to play and is good fun. We've had it for about 3 years and DD still loves it.

oh thanks alot - really helpful. Am still tempted to get cadoo as has good response here. Will get uno for stocking. think I will do so badly at the disney one that my dc will never listen to me again!

Any more ideas?

Not a board game, but do you have jenga? Lots of different versions of it including a Uno one, good fun esp when it comes crashing down

Try some of the old familiars: "Whot" - card game that works with younger and older.

marbles?

I've asked relatives to buy Junior Cleudo - could be good.
