Would it be too much to have a thread on lovely tree decorations we have seen?

I need new tree decorations and have limited time to shop around.

Would a thread on lovely tree decorations been too much even for the Christmas thread?

Links much appreciated Grin

I have a few decorations that need fixing, so tonight I'll be digging out the glue gun and sorting that.

I'm debating two trees this year. The one we use in the living room is too skinny, I'd like a fuller tree, so I may be relegating that tree to the dining room. Two trees to decorate - definitely looking forward to that. The dining room one will be matching with the decor and nice, the living room tree will be the family fun tree - mismatched but with all the history to the ornaments.

I wouldn't bet on them just sleeping under the tree this year, Chipper. Our fully grown cat used to swing on the tinsel like Tarzan! Xmas Grin

wooden decorations I got these same ones at a National Trust shop along with other lovely Christmas decs last weekend online shop here

I am going for a more natural look like year after recent gaudy affairs with DH in charge who thinks there no such thing as too much tinsel

also have these which are nice, the lights flicker like a candle

Today I got some more bits and pieces like crackle glazed glass bauble thingies in a garden centre shop so worth looking in less obvious places

What I really need now is proper storage boxes for my lovely new things and not the ratty old bankers boxes we have been using, guess that is another thread....

I LOVE those little houses, would add interest to tree with extra light.
Lex I want proper storage too, after all huge investment.

LexLoofah · 13/10/2015 22:19

Drastic they are lovely, hoping exactly that with the light

Shall I start a decorations storage thread? Not sure if it has been done already. I get so annoyed every year when things are broken and tangled up and then because I am so busy with Christmas I do absolutely nothing about it. I saw some bauble storage box thing on eBay today but wondered if I could semi-make one myself from an egg tray or something? Hmm perhaps not.

As a first step I have kept the box and bubble wrap from my new wooden lamps for them to get re-housed, usually rip the box in my excitement and gets thrown away - that is my pre-NY resolution, to keep the packaging for things like that

Plenty of room in here to talk all things storage Smile
