Just done 2 Molton Brown orders and code worked on both - thanks so much Flowers!

itsonlysubterfuge · 03/10/2015 21:58

Brucie The Playmobil Grande Mansion on the Costco website is complete. I was more looking for people's opinion's of the house, rather than advice on the price itself. Although, I did price check on amazon.co.uk and it comes out as more expensive on Amazon and cheaper at Costco.

roise Thank you, I'm glad to know your DD likes it, my DD is only 3, but she loves tiny things and really likes putting things to bed, giving them a wash, etc. So I thought she'd really enjoy the house with all of her toys, not just her Playmobil.

bluenile Thank you, I will have a look at the amazon.de website.

Thank you dancingqueen for the Molton Brown code. I have just used it to buy DH a travel set - should have been £25 but with the £15 off, worked out at a tenner. Also HAD to buy some bits for myself so any saving wiped out slightly... but the code still works, and with free delivery, free sample and free gift boxes, I'm v happy!

spub · 03/10/2015 22:07

Not a bargain but Tesco have a Paw Patrol plate, bowl and cup set for £6. Good for anyone who has a paw patrol obsessive like me!

EnglishRose1320 · 03/10/2015 22:32

Snowgirl Claires accessories have a frozen castle in their sale, it was £30 now £20, although I still thought that was a bit much, if you order on a mobile you can add the code mobile30 and also extra20 which brings it down to just £11.20 plus postage of £2.50 I think unless you want to buy any other bits, I think you can get free postage on their from £25

Flapdoodles · 03/10/2015 22:43

Thank you IAmAPaleontologist for the Very code. I have just received Lego Dimensions for £49 (originally priced £79 but used the £30 off code and used Collect+ so free postage!). I am really pleased with the price.

snowgirl1 · 03/10/2015 22:45

EnglishRose thanks for that - I've had a look on-line, but might need to try to pop and look at it in RL as it looks like it might be made of cardboard, which I'm not sure would be robust enough. Thank you for the codes, I'm probably going to be tempted to get lots of bits as a result!

EnglishRose1320 · 03/10/2015 22:49

I couldn't decide if it was cardboard or wood slotted together, photos are not very clear are they, I'm thinking about getting it for a friend's daughter and am going to try and find it in town next week to check- if it's cardboard then it was massively overpriced to start with imo!

Hi all any recommendations for the best baby doll for my nearly 5 year old? She's seen that one on to that has a unicorn but the set is very pricey.

Trudee · 04/10/2015 09:09

EMAIL15 gets you up to 15% off at The Works and TAKEFIVE is £5 off a £30 spend with The Book People

RedToothBrush · 04/10/2015 09:24

Just for the record with Gap. I've been watching their pattern with sales for baby and toddler stuff for the last 12 months. They do discount codes almost weekly (more if you are if you are signed up to their newsletter). New stock comes in (always on their website on a Tuesday) and starts being discounted at about 6 weeks in (at the latest). It goes into their sale properly at about 10 weeks after it hits their website. Don't buy anything from them at full price! You can get 30% off just about everything if you are patient. The except being 'seasonal' clothes (Halloween, Valentines, Christmas) which go on sale quicker. They had Halloween stuff reduced a couple of weeks ago!

They are definitely a company that uses discounts to confuse and encourage you to buy thinking you have got a good deal or that if you don't buy soon you will miss out when the reality is they sell most stuff at 30% discounted from the initial price. There are a few good discount codes to be had on their website though - 30 or 40% off all stock with free delivery on all orders is generally the best discount code they give (usually discounts only apply to sale or full price stock and free delivery only applies to orders over £50).

If you really want a bargain from Gap, you need to trawl instore regularly on their sale rails as this is where you'll find the biggest discounts. However stock is more limited and you need to be careful as the website can often have the same items cheaper!

I've not been looking at the discounts the Book People offer pattern very long but it does appear that they have a similar sale policy. Getting a genuine good deal from them seems to be more difficult than it might initially appear. Again, I think that its one to watch prices/discounts for a while so you can work out what really is a good one. My suspicion is you need to look out for flash sales and special offers in addition to discount codes with them as they (unlike Gap) tend to let you 'stack' discounts.

I probably should try and track both Gap and theBookPeople for discounting properly to work out what their best deals are. Are their any other companies that do this? I might add them to my list for the future reference and report back to Mumsnet about the best deals. I love spreadsheets and stats!

AndDeepBreath · 04/10/2015 09:25

Thanks Toblerone Smile there are more Benefit discounts on the same site here, hurrah!

AndDeepBreath · 04/10/2015 09:28

Oh no. Got a bit excited there, only 1 other discount I think.
