I know it's still early but I've managed to buy loads of things already for my 2 daughters. And absolutely nothing for my son.

He's quite techie/geeky and has no interest in clothes, smellies (he has loads of unopened aftershave) and he can't really eat chocolate or sweets due to having braces and ibs. He's 15.

So far the only thing I can think of is apple buds. He wants cash for his main present to put towards a new Ipad but I wanted to buy him a few surprises.

The only books he's enjoyed have been:
Hunger games
Diary of a wimpy kid
Ripley believe it or not
And years ago he liked a series of ghost stories by Chris Mold

He likes gaming, rock music (eg foo fighters) drama, big bang theory, game of thrones...

One of the kits from here

I went to a shop in our local centre yesterday called 'Tiger' they had lots of bits and pieces ideal for stockings - little timers made like lava lamps, book lights, head massagers, nice little books and pens etc all just a few pounds each. How about an iTunes gift card? Microsoft points?

I wonder what age they grow out of the stocking thing. I've never thought about it before, and have no idea when it stopped being a thing when I was a kid!

tuiles to be fair he's probably already grown out of his stocking and would probably prefer more cold hard cash than a load of random crap - this is probably more for my benefit Grin

I'm 43 and my mum still does one for me. To be honest I'd rather she didn't ungrateful bitch

VeryPissed I've ordered the panda wall sticker for my sisters stocking!
I make her one because my mum said she was too old and wasn't doing her any more.
She got one longer than me! Had my last at 9, sister had her last at 14, she is now 17 and I've done her one ever since!

Other past popular items included a pot noodle twirling fork thing, a little electric whisk for frothy hot chocolate, headphones, toiletries, lush bath bomb (can get quite manly things in there), socks (football/team socks maybe?) chocolate orange, NME magazine, can't think what else now!

Pp mentioned a shop called Tiger, it's absolutely fab for things you never knew you needed!

Verypissedoff - I always put hot chocolate powder, mini marshmallows and a can of squirty cream in my dses' stockings - they are now 18, 20 and 22, and it's a tradition that I am not allowed to give up.

I also put in some sort of grooming product - hair gel or hair putty, nice shower gel - things like that. And they get a pair of boxers and a pair of socks - last year I found Minion socks for them all - this year, I am going to look for Dr Who socks, or something of that sort. A mug can be a good thing too.

I have also put in stuff like piri piri sauce - I thought that might be good for them to spice up their cooking at university.

Marshmallow fluff, chocolate spread - these are staples too.
