I know there is probably a million threads on this but any ideas gratefully recieved.
Can't get chocolates as that's what they're getting from PTA.
No alcohol either as most of them don't drink!

May be too similar to chocolates but I've bought several boxes of Duchy Originals biscuits to give. Look really nice but cheap (less than £2 per head), easily bought (at Sainsburys) and easily wrapped.

not sure how much you'd want to spend but what about a christmas tree decoration for each of them? you could buy or get your son or daughter to make one or even 8

I've got my kids one of the charity gifts for their teachers. Go to any of the major charity sites such as oxfam and there are a couple of threads on this. You make a donation of a certain amount and they send you a card to give with details of what you have done on their behalf. I've given pencils to supply a school for a year as I thought it was appropriate but there are all sorts of things for all sorts of prices.

one of the mums at ds' preschool has arranged a collection from all the mums - we each gave a fiver and she's going to buy something collective from everyone. Saves them having to have 20 boxes of chocolates each

dmo · 29/11/2006 09:44

what about a sented candel each
a diary each
boots chemist £1 gift voucher each
pen each
christmas pudding each

or as a group some real coffee and biscuits

Cappuccino · 29/11/2006 09:46

my dd last year had two teachers and two special support assistants

at the end of the year I bought them some mugs to share for the staffroom; it was like a set

didn't buy them Christmas presents though - do people do that?

thank you there are some great ideas there.

I can't remember if I got them xmas gifts last year or not, will check with the other mums.

I have the same problem! I'm not entirely sure how many there are at DS2's nursery so I thought I would buy a box of biscuits for the coffee room (always went down well when I was a teacher ).

Also, he's only been there a term so I don't feel I know the well enough to get them anything more or different.

I did notice yesterday though that Waitrose had a pack of 3 bulbs already planted in small pots which weren't too expensive as you could divide the pack up and give one to each of them

Paperchase have nice gel pens and little note books, about £4 for both i think which makes a nice present.
Love the idea of real coffee and some biscuits for their staff room - might do that this year with a cafetiere as well...
you can get "paint your own mugs" mug which are £5 each and makes a lovely personalised present if you let your children paint them (the messier the better!) that went down really well for my dd's key carer who left earlier in the year, and as she signed the bottom, didn't need a card.
