where are you going and who with?

I am not sure yet. We've invited some family but they may not be above to come and the circumstances are understandable. If they can't come I am seriously thinking about going out for lunch.

I'm planning on inlaws visiting early in December to get that bit done Grin
Then Xmas at home and travel three hours boxing day to see my family and stay two nights
Just need to ask my mum Grin
Last two years have been going to inlaws or they've come here ( they're Five hours drive away )
Xmas day will be just us 4 , cannot wait !

We are going to my parents this year

TBF my DSDad is a much better host than he is guest, but I like my little cottage with its log fire, Christmas morning church, drinks in our local pub, familiar dog walks and we don't have a Florence and the fucking Machine Christmas cd either

Still, they've come to us the past two years so it seems fair that we make the journey this year. Accordingly DCat has been booked into cat prison so there's no going back now. I'm just hoping that the combined effect of us 3 and the 3 dogs is enough to encourage them to visit us in future :o

My mum and stepdad, brother his wife and two DDs (3,11) will be coming to us as we are currently coming to the end of an extension so will have a lovely big new kitchen area.

They will come to us at about 11 so we will have had a lovely morning with a nice brekkie and some present opening beforehand.

We live across the road from my DM so ovens will be shared.

I will be 38 weeks pregnant with DC2, so won't be doing an awful lot but hope to still have room for eating and energy for a nice Christmas Day walk and Christmas Magic.

Visit to see balled with DD and MIL.
Carols from Kings on the radio in the conservatory with friends and mulled wine.
Quiet christmas day with DM, OH and DC.

28th buffet lunch at home with SIL MIL and BIL.

No plans for the day itself yet, but Boxing Day at mils for huge family feast and holiday the day after that.

Christmas Day last year we had 21 for dinner And it was brilliant.
I know some people are busy this year but I'm hoping some can make it as we had Christmas with just is one year and it was just like any ordinary Sunday, did not feel like Christmas at all. We both agreed we wouldn't do that again!

We are doing Christmas at home for the first time ever ! We have always done a couple of days at my parents', then gone directly to dh's parents', alternating which ones we go to for Christmas Day itself.
We're just having my family this year because it's too far for dh's very elderly grandmother to come. We'll probably go to them for New Year.
The best thing is that dh is usually a real grinch about Christmas, but he loves cooking and hosting and so he is actually looking forward to it for once. So I don't have to do my usual playing down the enthusiasm Grin.
Plus where we live now (moved a year ago ) you can pretty much see snow all winter even if there's none actually on the ground, as we can see the mountains from our house. So the dc and their cousins will at least get a sort of white Christmas! Smile
