AND you get a warm glow from helping out a charity!
AND you helped the environment by recycling.

Yay for charity shops.

joelallie · 28/11/2006 12:58

And doesn't it feel good that they cost so little ??? Just you wait though until you start huffing because one charity shop charges so much more than another one...I'm not paying that!!!

It can become an obsession

Tinker · 28/11/2006 12:59

And you won't mind dumping it back there in a few months/years time

twoisenoughmum · 28/11/2006 13:15

Sounds like you've had a gorgeous morning.

Hooray for charity shops! There's nothing I like better than having a good old rummage. And Jumble Sales! Hooray! At my DD's school jumble sale a couple of weeks ago, I bought 2 puzzles, 2 videos, a Spirograph (never used), and about 15 items of clothing for my darlings. All in tip-top condition. 30p each!!!

I think the recycling aspect of buying things second hand is v. important.

less packaging to ram in my bin as well!! yes i am very pleased with my morning.

i also bought a few other cheap bits and bobs for stocking fillers things like bubble bath £1, magnetic letters and numbers £1, wooden train £1 from wilkinsons.

I love charity shops! I usually get loads of presents from there and 90% of my wardrobe too.

Hopefully the ones in my area will be filled to the brim with stuff next weekend when I've actually got some moola.

Well done on your bargains LoveMyGirls!

We never seem to have jumble sales anywhere in my area, I'd love a good rumble in the jumble.

moondog · 28/11/2006 13:43

Charity shops are the business.
You get a real sense of excitement in them (and a bloody good laugh too)

Boo to Debenhams and M&S!!!

Hooray for Cancer Research and Barnados!!

I just bought ds a leather flying jacket £3 and so many people have commented on it. I love bargains so adore charity shops. Because kids grow out of clothes so quickly the quality of children's clothes in charity shops is brilliant.

I used to do volunteer work in a charity shop and I used to come home with loads of stuff. I had an ever changing wardobe and my boys were very well dressed while I was there. There are quite a few near me too and theres nothing better than going to them every month or so for some great bargains. I love car boot sales too though not realy helping charity but love getting good stuff for cheap prices.
