if so, what were their conclusions?

they're one of a handful of things i can face atm but have been v disappointed by the ones i've tried (waitrose [too little filling], duchy origs [crumbly pastry, a little bland])

peachy - it was you that bought your mum and dad a tent for Christmas wasn't it?

are you having a special mince pie annex put on? or is it a seasonal addiction only?

PeachysAreNotAChristmasFruit · 28/11/2006 22:15

LOL seasonal only

Summer'll be the best Cornish pastie I ewxpect

(CD I was really taking the piss out of myself love, not anything else- I did my best to repeatedly amke that very clear indeed)

Tutter · 29/11/2006 08:32

Last year there was an excess of mince pies at work. One day I ate 4 !
I was pregnant at the time. Ho hum what will be my excuse this year?

I have heard good things about the M&S ones this year but I'm trying not to buy any yet as i know that I will just stuff my greedy little face with them.

kickassangel · 29/11/2006 13:13

only 4? i've learnt a little restraint over the years, but can still happily chomp my way through mega number of mince pies - one of my favourite foodes EVER. But, don't often like shop ones - too stodgy. I buy mincemeat, then ass some apples & brandy to give them a little more edge. make pastry with butter & grated orange rind & orange juice. this year i'm planning to let dd help (i will need to drink some brandy first), so am expecting the 'tops' to be a variety of animal shapes as she'll get bored of the round ones!

if i were you, peachy. i'd get your parents to buy mince pies for you - after all, they're the experts! surely it's their duty?

kickassangel · 29/11/2006 13:14

'add' not 'ass'.

PeachysAreNotAChristmasFruit · 29/11/2006 18:46

yum, my parents buying ALL my Christ, mas food for me LOL! (I will be visiting)- hence the tent for a Christmas pressie.
