Oooh I have found my spiritual home!

My dd is going to nearly 3 this Christmas so will understand it all this year (kind of)
So I'm after toddler stocking ideas and activity ideas.
So far my plans are
Making gingerbread house with lush frosting and dolly mixture

Making Xmas cake and pudding (in october)

Perhaps hand making our own christmas cards sith cutesy toddler thumb prints etc

Writing letters and read night before Christmas Dvent book

Gift wise -
Pinny and chefs hat
Xmas dress
Pj's and socks (Xmas eve)
Books
More duplo for her collection
Gruffalo teddy bear
Chocolate coins

Main present wise me and dh are in a battle of wills, he wants her to have a bike and I want to buy her a wooden dolls house and fill it full of sullvanian families stuff.

What is everyone else doing for their tiddlers?

We're getting our DD who will be three a vtech camera watch that boots had reduced to £25 and a wooden train set. I started getting her playmobil fairies but the pieces are just a bit too small, especially with DD2 being teeny tiny, so we've put it aside for next year.

Our twin girls will be 3.3.

We are getting them bikes

More duplo
Dolls styling head
Colouring books and a variety of colouring crayons

Bikes are pricey so limiting other gifts

I love your ideas, I may attempt some with my nearly two year old. I'd also like to make mince pies with her, it was a tradition to make them on Christmas evening when I was growing up. Last year she had a picture advent calendar. I got her a wow toy calendar when it was half price in the black Friday deals for this year. She'll share my chocolate one too! We visited father Christmas but she cried and cried so am not sure about that again. We went to the local paint a pot and they helped us put her hand print on Christmas decorations. We will watch the muppet Christmas Carol as I love it Grin

Presents wise I have bought a dolls house, books, Duplo and an Aqua doodle. Duplo is brilliant and keeps dd occupied for ages. The dolls house will be for her birthday just after Christmas, as we'll probably be travelling to stay with family over the Christmas period. I'd like to get her a balance bike, but have no clue which one and probably couldn't take that with us either.

Hoping to get some play food for her kitchen. My ideas for stocking are play dough, chocolate coins, satsuma, small instrument (kazoo, shakers, harmonica, bells), paints/pens/crayons, socks, knickers, hair accessories, bubbles and stickers.

I would love to hear what other people's ideas are for their toddlers.

DD1 turns three just before Christmas. Present-wise she's having a Lalaloopsy Color Me doll, Frozen dolls (soft Anna and Elsa dolls), felt tips, and pajamas. She's asked for a Hey Duggee playset, and I think my mum's getting her that. She's having a Peppa Pig scooter for her birthday.
Activities we'll be doing definitely include baking! We'll be visiting Santa at some point, going to a Nativity play, school Christmas fayre, and hopefully the Santa's Winter Wonderland at the Snowdome in Tamworth. I definitely recommend that, if you're local enough. Booking is available now. It's great fun and I think it's good value for money.

Our ideas for DS who will be 2 near Christmas are:

Stocking - big plastic magnifying glass, bubbles, fuzzy felt set, apron & letter magnets for the fridge door.

Presents from us are: no idea yet. He adores books and role play stuff. Possibly a pretend work bench or kitchen. And his first set of pants! As he'll need them in 2016 Smile

Collieputthekettleon · 31/08/2015 11:01

Last year we drew around DSs hand on sparkly red card, cut it out and threaded red , white & green twine through it to make a Christmas Tree decoration. Doing the same this year too Smile

I thoroughly recommend this book. The pictures are great & the story is ideal for toddlers. www.amazon.co.uk/books/dp/1849415269 too.

Dd will be 2.9 at Christmas this year. No clue what to put in her stocking yet but I have some playmobil Christmas sets for us to do a present hunt from the elves on Christmas eve.

Her main present/s will be playmobil, either one big set or a couple of medium ones (waiting for Argos 3 for 2 to come back on) I've already bought her a rag doll with accessories (couple of outfits and sleeping bag) a Melissa and Doug spelling toy, play dough and a cd for the car. We're also going to get her a little CD player for her room.

I went overboard last year so I'm scaling back this time. I will get her some clothes and books and some chocolate. My sister is getting her the fisher price till that we had when I was little and my mum has got her the playmobil ark.

She's not that into baking at the minute but she might be by Christmas. I've bought a big Christmas craft set when it was cheap from Argos so have that to do some activities. We have the elves visit on Christmas eve where they brings a new book and pyjamas and the playmobil this year, I've got a jar to fill with reindeer food (oats and glitter) that we will sprinkle outside just before she goes to bed and I have a Santa plate to put the carrot and mince pie for Santa on.

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 31/08/2015 11:36

Love this, getting excited about Xmas with DS who will be just 3. Love the handprint decoration idea. We will probably go to local Xmas tree farm again and pick a small tree (we have a big fake one too), and I might book us tickets for the local 'Santa express' on the steam railway line. I'd quite like to do a homemade advent calendar (mix of chocolates, tiny toys, coins etc) but I'm worried that the self control of one per day may result in a few tantrums! Going to gather together all out Xmas books / toys / stockings to bring out on 1st December and also do an Xmas eve hamper with new PJs, bubble bath/bath bomb, hot chocolate, plate for father Xmas mince pie, night before Xmas book. Can't wait!

I wanted to start a tradition last year of playing a new board game on Christmas Eve. My son was 3 1/2 and we got Dotty Dinosaurs and it went down pretty well.

We also went to a garden centre and saw reindeer and he chose his own decoration for the tree (except it didn't make it onto the tree because he wanted to carry it around everywhere).
