What do you wear over Christmas?

What do you wear over the Christmas period - Christmas Day, but also Christmas Eve/Boxing Day?

I ask because my OH's family always spend the day in comfy clothes, sweatpants/pjs etc., whereas mine tend to dress up a bit. We've always been to a neighbour's party on Christmas Eve and to relatives' houses for Christmas Day so have to be smart-ish for those... but can't wear clothes that are too nice as we all get covered in hair from the large number of dogs present on both days!

Oh but Boxing Day is for slobbing/walking, unless we're visiting other relatives that day.

I think the ballet pump style might be it!

I might (super organised!) have a Christmas dress already, or at least, a dress that's not "going out" but bit smarter than 'every day' so perfect for 1 of the 3 days (we'll do church on Christmas eve, then the other set of grandparents on boxing day, so need 3 outfits really). I picked up this one before it went out of stock - it's sort of knitted but not very thick (so won't be too hot) - sits just above my knee, figured that would look fabulous with thick navy tights and some flashing christmas tree cute ballet pumps... Grin

Last year I bought burgandy skinny jeans that looked a bit dresser than normal ones, so a new top and that's another christmas outfit sorted..

Hmm, perhaps we should start a new thread in 'style and beauty' for some "not too hot, not too dressy, looks good with rudolph slippers" ideas!

I mooch around in a combo of Crocs flip flops (oh so comfy), Christmas slipper socks (Nightmare before Christmas to be exact), and various pairs of shoes and boots. Sometimes barefoot or just ordinary socks (cosy hiking ones in depths of winter).

If I am wearing a dress, I usually wear the shoes/boots that will go well with it while out and for a while at home, especially if the dress requires tights. But then may go to slippersocks for comfort or flat shoes. (We tend to wear shoes in the house as normal, but its also not at all unusual to find one or even all 3 of us barefoot or just socks, especially once we're in for the night).

I love the idea of proper Christmas slippers though!!

Walking gear for the Christmas morning hike, then comfy stuff until after dinner (around 4ish), when we all usually resort to pyjamas with elasticated waists Grin.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day - jeans and nice top/Christmas jumper.
