I know her main present for her birthday will be a camera and for Christmas a sprite scooter.

But I need ideas on smaller presents. I have a list of books so that's covered but am stuck for other ideas!

Inspire me!

The Legi Creator House is fab. dS had it when he was 9 and there was much Envy from DD.

MintJulip · 15/08/2015 13:36

dd adores the animals ones, rainforest - fury creatures, have got her the monkey one for her bday.

gp have got the creator seaons but I also love look of the tree house and beach hut ones.

EaglesNest · 16/08/2015 20:45

Went to Legoland today and she spotted lots of Lego Friends bits she liked.

Stationary, jewellery box you can build, a pencil holder to build and some key rings.

I can add those to the long list

Some really good ideas for dsd here. Thanks

InQuiteAPickle · 22/08/2015 17:58

I haven't got a clue what to get DD1. She doesn't really play with toys but would be disappointed if she got clothes Hmm.

She loves her DS and that is what she plays with the most, and the trampoline.

urbanturban · 22/08/2015 22:04

Thanks for the Aquarellum recommendation! DD (8 on Christmas Eve!) will absolutely adore it! Thanks

lostlalaloopsy · 23/08/2015 09:34

These threads are great for ideas. My dd will be 7 at Christmas and I have been struggling about what to get her as she doesn't seem to bother with any toys now.

I think the Aquarellum and Harimuka will be big hits!

VinoTime · 23/08/2015 14:25

Ideas far my 8 yo DD so far are:

  • Either a Hudl 2 and some accessories OR a keyboard and some sheet music (she's just started keyboard lessons so I'll be waiting to see how that one pans out over the next couple of months).
  • Lego Elves Skyra's Mystery Castle
  • Lego Elves Treetop Hideaway
  • Lego Elves Aira's Pegasus Sleigh
  • Lego Elves Naida's Spa Secret
  • Lego Elves book
  • Monopoly board game
  • A 3D puzzle (not sure which one yet, but she loved doing Big Ben!)
  • Sequin Art 3D Mannequin (if I can get hold of one)
  • Inside Out DVD
  • Minions DVD
  • Monster High Boo York! Boo York! DVD
  • Rubik's Cube (already bought this, £4.99 out of Home Bargains)
  • Monster High Colour Me Mine bag
  • The Sims 3 for the Nintendo Wii
Smile

Starting to think about this too, I also have an 8 year old dd. She still loves toys thank goodness. She's inherited her older sister's Girl for our time dolls, they are beautiful dolls, each one from a different period in history. She has the Tudor and victorian one, and I have the Georgian one put away for her. She loves Gotz dolls too.

Will probably get a few lego friends sets.

She loves arts and crafts so something crafty to do too.

SoThisIsSummer · 25/08/2015 14:59

dancer

girl of our time look stuning and hopefully investment peices

Member957064 · 25/08/2015 18:40

Marking place - some great ideas here! Grin

tassisssss · 25/08/2015 18:43

Mine is almost 9 and wants a BMX, a full size basketball stand, lots of books, robofish, hex bugs, lego

also needs a new dressing gown...

so plenty of ideas for once (she's not at all girly).

TheSkyIsAwake · 25/08/2015 19:35

Hex bugs were £1.50 in tesco last week if that's any use.

Dancergirl · 25/08/2015 19:59

Can someone explain to me what hex bugs are please?

Dancergirl · 25/08/2015 20:00

so they are really beautiful dolls. Very expensive but amazing quality and attention to detail. And my dds really like the books you can get too.

W00t · 28/08/2015 20:18

dancer hex bugs are little battery-operated critters- they look like brightly coloured bug, and they have teeny rubber legs which vibrate. When you put them on a hard surface they run around.
They actually far more absorbing than you would imagine. There are lots of track layouts you can get, there are some that can climb vertically and use zip-wires. I thought they'd just be a rubbish swizz, but actually my children still play with theirs three years on. Smile
They're oddly entrancing, I find I can't stop watching them when they're on. They're not creepy like real bugs/spiders either!

babsmam · 28/08/2015 20:26

Thank the Lord you started this op I'm lost.
Sparkling plastic tat seems to be the order of the day in our house

Flomple · 30/08/2015 02:58

Big hit from last christmas was DD's soap making set.

No idea about this year, but I'm keeping an eye on Book People as she is a voracious reader and the sets are such good value.

Dancergirl · 30/08/2015 07:20

Thanks woo think they might appeal to my dd!

The aquarellum sets look fab
