AIBU to wish it was Christmas now?!

I am SO not brave enough to actually post this in aibu but I really do wish it was... I mean at least late September! The cold crispness of everything, the fleecy pajamas and bed covers, not listening to half the street chattering because we need the window open Angry

I want to be thinking of presents, and Christmas food, and WRAPPING - and Christmas songs, and winter walks, and dark nights, and darker mornings, and pajama days

I vow to have a real roaring fire this time by 2016! (not this time....Christmas time obvs)

Anybody else??

yanbu

I love love love Christmas! After dd1's birthday in September I really start planning and buying, I get more excited than the kids. I think I am the only person I know that doesn't complain about Christmas things and songs in the shops in September.

Ekkwhine · 24/07/2015 11:42

I've been eying up my bannister this morning whilst hoovering thinking garland intertwined with white lights.

Or just the lights. They could go up now Wink

I can remember posting on Facebook, either last year or the year before, on August 25th about there being Christmas stuff on my local supermarket. So that's a month away. Confused

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/07/2015 20:47

*in, not on. It was for sale, they hadn't decorated the shop.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/07/2015 20:47

Oh. ^in. Did that work?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/07/2015 20:48

Wenglish · 25/07/2015 21:40

OP I think you are me! Feel exactly the same.

Ekkwhine · 25/07/2015 21:50

Chips-did I just see you on another thread with an eviction date of Christmas Eve, or am I thinking of someone else? Wink

footflapper · 25/07/2015 22:02

Totally agree! I felt so sad when I took my decorations down in Jan! So I booked a holiday the same day.. That's at the end of August, so when thats over i'll start planning christmas. I love the run up to christmas more than the actual day Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/07/2015 22:22

Last year we didn't really have a good cold spell.
(Though I have my own internal heat with the old hormones anyway Grin )

I think there were two mornings that I had ice on my car windscreen.
I didn't wear gloves at all.

I wore my long puffy coat once

My family came for Christmas and were amazed at the warm temperature.

So this year.
Some cold.
Not necessarily snow, but some cold.
It's healthier too.

LittleMissRayOfHope · 25/07/2015 22:27

My year is like this...

Jan - boring
Feb - boring
Mar - boring
Apr - boring
May - boring
June - boring

Then:
July - Dd's birthday yay!
August - summer hols yay!
Sept - DS birthday!!
Day after DS birthday - CHRISTMAS NOW!!

And then January comes and I have to start waiting again

SideOrderofChips · 25/07/2015 22:40

Ekkwhine Nooo I have an eviction date in September! So i'll have a Christmas Bargain Thread baby. He will be three months almost exactly at Christms

AoifeBell · 25/07/2015 22:41

Ekkwhine · 25/07/2015 23:20

Ah chips I'm mixing you up, you are pregnant though-I get points for that surely?! Is s/he your first? This has no bearing on Christmas, I'm just a nosey old bag Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 26/07/2015 00:37

We're watching Love Actually. Grin

elQuintoConyo · 26/07/2015 00:56

Bought two presents today, will buy two more after payday Grin

I'm in Spain and we have had a 28-35° heatwave for five weeks. 'Bored' doesn't cover it!

I even counted up my €2 jar savings today: €64 so far this year.

CHRISTMAS! BRING IT ON Smile

elQuintoConyo · 26/07/2015 00:58

Oh, and last weekend on a weekend away, 3yo DS managed to watch Polar Express 3 times! Guess I'll be getting him that to watch Christmas Eve, too.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 26/07/2015 15:52

Oh no Quinto now I want to count my change pot too!! I mustn't, it's a tradition for DH and I to do it on December 1st.

Bought another Christmas present Xmas Grin that's three so far.

SideOrderofChips · 26/07/2015 15:58

Yes you can have lots of points for remember im pregnant.

CoffeeBeanMonster · 26/07/2015 16:48

I love Christmas and I put my tree up by the end of November shortly after my Halloween tree comes down.

I like the summer too but it is seriously lacking in fairy lights and trees and apparently I'm not allowed to put up a midsummer tree. Meh!

dementedma · 26/07/2015 16:51

Bloody hell where are you all that you are fed up of the sunshine. Summer has yet to arrive here in miserable, cold, rainswept Scotland so I would like some summer first please, before we get to thinking about winter.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 26/07/2015 17:05

It's absolutely pissing it down here in Suffolk. Might as well be December.

Ekkwhine · 26/07/2015 18:40

Coffee-I'm intrigued by a Halloween tree, please tell me more Grin

Chips-awww, that's lovely. I too have two girls and a boy, my boy's the easiest by far, however he's also on the spectrum and non-verbal, I don't know if there's a link there. This year his understanding of situations has come on in leaps and bounds, I think he'll be really excited for Christmas this year. And I'm excited in anticipation of his excitement iyswim?
