I am not getting caught up in that overspending nonsense.I haev for years tried to hint to my family that I don't think xmas is about big expensive presents but it has fallen on deaf ears so this year i am going to be straight with them I love presents and choosing things for different people but I think it has all become excessive tbh and has no meaning at all.I don't need any more stuff and would be more than happy with a book or some chocolates! My mum bought me a v expensive cardigan last year which i took back!It cost about £90 and I would prefer she spent less and was just a bit nicer to everyone. So I am saying give a donation to charity I am not bah humbug by the way I love xmas just can't stand the excess and waste.

I know what you mean. Dh and i dont buy each other pressies as it is a waste. Neither of us need anything and if we do we buy it when needed. We do probably spend too much on kids though! My mum tends to ask if i need anything. Thankfully most of our famly just buy for kids which is more than enough. I hate people spending money just for the sake of it. And i love Christmas too but it is for the kids.
